WIP Angel relief ~ Fides~

~Fides ~
(Latin - faith)

 WIP Angel relief
She  has been a very slow but fulfilling process...  I have much rework to do and am only 1/4 of the way down..  As is with my past reliefs,  no molds or stencils are ever used.. Original design from my mind's eye... I usually do a sketch so I have a reference...  the background was created with mixed media, the relief work accomplished with paper clay, a few tools and my favorite tool, my fingers.
I love the feel of this clay...  I will add more WIP photos to this post as I go along.

Wishing all that celebrate Thanksgiving a joyful one.
I am blessed for so many things, most importantly my children, family and you my friends.
Thank you all for making this year a special one.

Oliver and an Angel in waiting

Hello dear friends...
Jasper is fully recovered from his surgery,  I from the flu... (well almost)...   Thank you all so much for your well wishes and most appreciated visits...

In October, while Jasper was recuperating and before I came down with the flu, this is what I created.
He will be traveling to his new home this week.

A dear collector asked me if I would consider Needle felted the likeness of her dear cat
"Oliver"..  I will admit I was a bit nervous... Cats, for me anyway, are a real challenge..   I had several bumps along the road, but pleased with the end result.   More importantly she was thrilled.. So this is a good thing yes?

I have also started on my wall relief for the Christmas season..  I am taking WIP photos, and hope to share them on my next post.  Where or where has the time gone...  I really cannot believe Thanksgiving is so close and then we will be ringing the bells for the Christmas Angels...

Oliver

Violet is ready for Halloween and Christmas

Hello, my name is Violet.  I am all dressed and ready for the Halloween party.
Mum made my skirt with orange wired ribbon.. My witch hat is metal with ribbon weaved in.

I love purple, so Mum needle felted me a nice comfy
chair to rest in.

And also a pumpkin for me to take to the party.

When we have tricked our last treat,  I can now put on my
pretty hand beaded skirt and crown for the Christmas season.. Mum hand stitched my skirts.
My tiny lavender shoes stay on.

She gave me this key to hold and said not to misplace it.

I don't really know what it is for, but I will hold it tight.
Wishing you all a magical Halloween!

Hello dear friends...  I needle felted this chair a while back.. It was waiting for the right little one.
Violet and chair were lovingly needle felted...  I hope she gave you a smile.
She is available on Ebay, and should arrive before Halloween.

Wishing you all a beautiful week... Thank you so much for coming over to meet
Violet.

Cosmo loves shiny things

When the sun comes up
I take off like the wind
To see what shiny things
This  Fall day brings
A little bobble here
A silver chain there
A crown fit for a king
Even ankle rings
When the day is done
And the sun goes down
You will find me right here
Wearing my crown.
p.w.

Some may call me a jewel thief,  I would disagree.
I love the hunt, who knows what you will find.
Just look at the collar I came across.

I love this chain.  The stones are black.

I believe my favorite find it the crown.
See  you soon..

I have needle felted Cosmo over a wire armature... His claws are wrapped in black cotton.
He has black glass eyes.
I really enjoyed working on Cosmo... I hope you enjoyed viewing.

Welcome to my Vintage style furniture shop.... Lilly will demonstrate

No, I am not going into the Vintage furniture business, ( LOL )  but I am having such fun
needle felting these pieces out of Maori wool and Merino wool.
Below is my personal favorite, and in a much smaller scale as the big blue chair in my previous post..
More coming soon.

This Fainting couch measures:
5 1/2" long
3" tall
Seat is 1  1/2" deep
I hand cut a piece of balsa wood for the underside. .. Makes attaching the tiny metal legs a bit easier.
Signed and dated on the wood

Underside of the Fainting couch.

Below is a grey Loveseat Settee
5 1/2 " long
4 1/4 Tall
Seat is 2" deep
Embellished with grey satin cording and a tiny metal piece inserted in back of
couch.  This piece also has a hand cut balsa underneath, signed and dated.
Fainting couch will be available this evening on Ebay.

And of course, Lilly had to demonstrate how comfortable it is...

You remember Lilly, I created her last year...
Thank you so much for wandering  over.
Hope you enjoy the music..
