Hello dear friends.
My art has always carried me through stressful times, and I completely lose myself in a magical world. Hours fly, and my heart is eased some. I hope you enjoy, and this post finds you all in a good health.
My French Lavender is exploding, and I have been spending quite a bit of time harvesting, drying and creating. I wondered, what could I do with all the lavender stems, maybe attempt to basket weave?
Well, it did not occur to me that the stems would not be long enough, so the end result looked more like a little birds nest.
I also enjoyed using my French Lavender stems to build a wee house and two Castles!
French Lavender stems
Next I thought maybe build a little house. I used cardboard for the walls then covered with lavender stems, and even a thatched roof. I took a photo of one of my sculptures and inserted it into the front door. This little house was such a challenge for me, I don't why, and is not my best work, but thought I would share with you anyway. After all, life is not perfect, and we learn from our mistakes.
In progress photo
I was so focused on creating I forgot to take more in progress photos.

Finished
Below is my first Castle... Constructed from paper towel holder ( I always save a few for projects)
paint, cardboard, dried roses from my garden, and Lavender stems and seeds.
Finished Display
Measures 8"x8"
My second Castle
Display measures 7"x7"
For this one I used a 5x7 board canvas for the base
See this little horse? That would be the third horse I had attempted to make for the castle.
I still think he is too large, but I simply cannot make him any smaller. He stands two inches tall.
Thank you all so much for taking time to visit. This is what I have been working on since my last post. Now I think I will make a few more sachet lavender bags.
I hope you are all doing something that makes your heart sing.
Blessings,
Penny
