Lavender creations....

Hello dear friends.

My art has always carried me through stressful times, and I completely lose myself in a magical world.  Hours fly, and my heart is eased some.   I hope you enjoy, and this post finds you all in a good  health.

My French Lavender is exploding,  and I have been spending quite a bit of time harvesting, drying and creating.  I wondered, what could I do with all the lavender stems, maybe attempt to basket weave?
Well,  it did not occur to me that the stems would not be long enough, so the end result looked more like a little birds nest.
I also enjoyed using  my French Lavender stems to build a wee house and two Castles!

French Lavender stems

Next I thought maybe build a little house. I used cardboard for the walls then covered with lavender stems, and even a thatched  roof.  I took a photo of one of my sculptures and inserted it into the front door. This little house was such a challenge for me, I don't why, and is not my best work, but thought I would share with you anyway.  After all,  life is not perfect, and we learn from our mistakes.

In progress photo
I was so focused on creating I forgot to take more in progress photos.
5"x4 1/2

Finished

Below is my first Castle...  Constructed from paper towel holder ( I always save a few for projects)
paint, cardboard, dried roses from my garden, and  Lavender stems and seeds.

Finished Display
Measures 8"x8"

My second Castle
Display measures 7"x7"
For this one I used a 5x7 board canvas for the base

See this little horse?  That would be the third horse I had attempted to make for the castle.
I still think he is too large, but I simply cannot make him any smaller.  He stands two inches tall.

Thank you all so much for taking time to visit.  This is what I have been working on since my last post.   Now I think I will make a few more sachet lavender bags.

I hope you are all doing something that makes your heart sing.

Blessings,
Penny

Sending an Angel

Hello dear friends,

Wrapped in gentle wings
To hold you close and safe
I dream of days to come
When the world is a safer place.

I am sending an Angel to watch over you...
Be well.
Blessings,
Penny

Cotton Lavender

A few years a ago I planted 6  Cotton Lavender.  They are all grown up now,  and when in  full bloom are quite beautiful.  They are just starting to bloom, so I thought I would share.  You can hardly see the bird bath any longer as they have grown so much.   I just harvested my French lavender.  It still has some left to harvest.

Photo below is the Cotton Lavender.  As soon as it is in full bloom it should be solid purple.

Thank you so much for taking time to visit.

Hello dear friends

Time marches on, and due to health issues with myself and daughter who is now in my care,  I have not been able to spend time visiting you all, or posting.  I can't believe it has been almost 2 years.   I am not sure how often I will post, but will try to visit.  I have missed everyone so much and think of you often.

I hope you are all doing well, and life is treating you kind.

I have not felted in some time, but have managed to pick up my pencils.
I was going through my portfolio and found this old painting from 2007.

Sending well wishes to you. Bebe sends her love.
