Little Squirrel needle felted

Hi there!  Almost finished... Just need to do a little more work...  I had started him some time ago, then put it away... I really don't like unfinished work, and I have one or two more waiting to be pulled out of the hatbox and completed... I think his tail may need to be a little longer, and I must find something for him to hold.. On this one I did not wire his hands.. Each finger is firmly needle felted.. Won't do that again.. Very time consuming.  More so than wired fingers that are wound in wool.
Thank you so much for wandering over... I always look forward to your visits.

This afternoon I sculpted a walnut in polymer clay for him to hold.

And today (Sunday) I lengthened his tail.   Much better I think... All finished....

Soon he will be ready to scamper off to find a new home.

I wanted share this painting behind him..  I painted this probably 30 years ago,  oil on Masonite . It was taken from a photo I took  of my son ( love that little fat belly) on a visit to  his great grandmas house... Picking me a flower.
.

He is now available on ebay

see you soon

A Sea of wool

Hello dear friends. . I thought I would try my hand at felting a picture..  I used an a  8x10" piece of wool felt as the base then felted on top with  wool to create a seascape..  It is my first, and not up to my standards, but I wanted to share with you.  I have so many ideas floating around in my head,  next I would like to attempt a garden...

I am still working on my squirrel, a little time here and there... Almost done.

Thank you all so much for you kind words you left me about my fence..  One day when it is finally finished I will share with you.

Thank you so much for visiting

Building a fence

Last summer I started a little project in the back yard..  For the most part, it is just small rock, most of the homes in my area have rock due to the heat..but there are two pads of grass for Jasper and Zoe to play on. I thought I would put a fence up around the grassed area, so they could play and I could keep an eye on them..  I was going to hire someone to fence it in until I found out what it would cost...Yike!  So,  I purchased some pvc panels that have metal rods that go into the earth...I though,  I could do that... Little by little I have worked on it... Picked up a few at a time when I could afford..
Because it needs to go quite a distance I thought it might be best to put in a few wood posts along the way.. It was a bit of a challenge, but I was able to dig a hole and sink the posts..  Sometimes I forget my age  and just barrel in there, so I am going slow so I don't  tweak the back...Thank you to my sis for lending a helping hand with some of the panels.  I hope to have it finished this summer, maybe before..

I am  getting there.. Just need to turn the corner and back to the house, and put a gate on the other end. I also put in the red brick that outlines the grass.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend!

Needle felting ~ Mini Anita~

This is where I keep all my Merino wool.. I love hat boxes

In this hat box..... my cross mix sheep wool

A while back, dear Anita asked that I Needle felt what she calls
mini me... from her Illustration below... Only  a beret instead of a bow, and blue coat, like the one she had as a child. I know some of you have seen  ~little Anita~ but thought you may enjoy the works in progress.  I only took a few.

This is the photo Anita sent for inspiration. I just adore her artwork!

These are the sleeves of the coat...  The coat was made in the same manner, then I felted it onto her body.

I gave her a black under dressing

Here we are.. all done.. I thought she should have a little bag to match her beret

Getting ready to travel

I will miss you...

Anita sent me this sweet photo below today.. I needed a profile photo. The quality of Anita's photo is much better
Merci!

I hope you enjoyed.

Now,  if you have not been to Nowhere today and are in need of laughter and a lot of fun, please drop in and see dear Rattus over in Nowhere
He is back from the hospital... You will not believe what Anita has put together.. and the conversations between Tea Rat and Rattus will give you a belly laugh.. It is such FUN!

To my dear friends, Anita and Ruben... Thank you so much for giving me the gift of friendship and TONS of laughter..
Merci!
