...... Crucifixion...... bas relief for my private collection.
This piece has been on my table for some time.. While working on this piece and Holy week approaching, emotions flooded my heart. For It is with darkness that we see light. Sorrow gives us hope, hope give us faith, and faith is love.
You got it so right. So right.
ReplyDeleteI believe in Him so....I believe that faith is our invisible "ticket" and hope our path to the final destination that will never end. Because once we have arrived at complete love's threshold, we will no longer need that ticket called faith, we no longer have to travel on the rails of hope. No. It will be complete on our end because HE finished the mission long ago, on that cross.
Penny, your art speaks OUR hearts. I love you so, my dear and great friend.
Dearest Penny - What a wonderful work of art as well as a heartfelt post. I too am thinking of His great love as Holy Week begins. Bless you for sharing. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteDear Penny, I really understand that it was emotional for you to work on this very special artwork. It is absolutely beautiful, so serene and amazing work. The 'earthy' colors enhance the effect of this work even more.

ReplyDeletehow lovely that you completed this piece
ReplyDeleteand
that your heart was gifted with such a depth of feeling
Dear Penny, I can understand to the emotions you must have had in working on Jesus crucifixion. It is a touching piece of art. The depth of the sinews in the arms and legs, the taut pulling on the chest area, as Jesus seems to breath his last breath... almost brings me to tears. I love seeing the gauze surface behind him.. it is almost like the shroud he was later wrapped in. Did you intend that? And isn't it grand the HE rose again! Happy Easter to you my Penny friend.
ReplyDeleteDear Penny,
ReplyDeleteThis is such a beautiful and heartfelt post and poignant piece of art. I recently saw a documentary about Jesus and this post just brings it home. Happy Easter to you, my cherished friend.
Hi Penny!
ReplyDeleteThat is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing this during this Season. What an amazing week ahead...amazing grace! Thank you, Jesus!
It was so good to see your comment soon after I did a post tonight. We are over the sickness...I tell ya...it's been a doozy of a season...Santino had a little cold recently, but that's gone too. Whew! So done with all of that. haha...
Hope you are doing well. Have a blessed Holy Week!
Love,
Heidi
Penny, this is beautiful. I just watched 'The Passion of Christ' with my husband last night, and every time I see it, I cry. I think it's one of the best movies that Mel Gibson made.
ReplyDeleteHave a very nice Easter week, Penny. You are dear t me.
love, ~Sheri
Penny, thank you for your kind words, but I think I must just try again. I'll get that effect!
