Here chick, chick Please meet Hannah

Hello dear friends... I hope you are enjoying a quiet Sunday.. The weather here has cooled down a little thank goodness...  A heartfelt  " thank you"  for your beautiful comments about little Bernard.

Please meet my little yellow chick.. I did not name her, my mind just went blank. . She stands 3 inches tall, has black glass bead inset eyes... Her little legs are wire, covered with embroidery thread.
Her core was felted with Suffolk/Hampshire cross sheep wool.. Her top coat was needle felted into the core and scissor cut..
I hope you enjoyed your stay... Thank you so much for visiting.  She is available on Ebay. You may visit her auction   here
blessings,
Penny

Thank you Mavis Mudd for the suggestion... A brown tuff you say? Then Hannah it is!

  10. She reminds me of Easter, Penny. She's adorable. I am noticing your fairies in the background. I am always quick to notice fairies, as I love them myself.

I am wondering what you will name your sweet chick. Have a blessed week, Penny.

  11. Dear Penny - what a sweet little chick. Now for her name...don't keep me guessing what you will call her. After all she is just too cute to not have a name. Take care and thank you for sharing her with us. Hugs!

  15. No name? No name?! Oh, my dear Penny, as head chicken lady of the Hollow, I must strenuously suggest that you give her an identity immediately! You've no idea what damage you can inflict on such an innocent soul by referring to her as "HEY Chick! Here CHICK CHICK! YO, CHICK!" Might I suggest the lovely name Cornelia; that is what I named my 12th child, fresh from the egg shell... or perhaps Hannah, the name of my 36th little chicklet, she too, had a little brown thatch of feathers on her tiny noggin.Just suggestions of course, coming from an expert mother and author of award winning Chicken How to Books.... Sincerely, Mavis Mudd, gossip columnist for Hopalong Hollow Gazette.

    1. Thank you Mavis, I had no idea I could stress out this little chick by not giving her a name.
Well, if your Hannah chick has a brown tuff on her tiny noggin then Hannah it is!
      Thank you!

  16. Oh Dear, that Mavis Mudd is such a buttinsky! But seriously Penny, you have captured the essence of a baby chick, truly. I have known many and when I was trying to make them with mohair, I just couldn't get the stance right; you know, with the protruding little chest and the pushed out forehead. She is perfect, whatever you name her.

  17. Hi Jeri,
Mavis a buttinsky? Oh heavens no!
She is no longer nameless, thanks to dear Mavis Mudd. She looks like a Hannah, don't you think? teeehee

Thank you for your kind words... I actually had to do some re-work on her to get her stance right.. It was a bit of a challenge.. I LOVE your work.. Bird, chick, bun bun, all of them!

Oh I had to come back and I saw you came by too....it is with sheer delight that WE ALL come to see another unveiling of a precious creation this long-awaited spring. I wonder what is next for you dear heart? I can't wait!

  19. Awwww! Penny dear,
My daughter Hannah, yes her name if you recall is Hannah. Well she had to raise a baby yellow chick last year for a project, it was so cute and would follow her around like she was the mama.
Your felted chick named Hannah is a soft fluffy reminder of that time.

It's so adorable, and a great Easter basket piece for next year.
    Xoxo
    Dore.

Thank you Penny dear for taking the time to visit me and always showing your love.

    Xoxo
