For the love of Pandas

Did I ever mention that Panda bears were the favorite bear of my dear Mother?
I was researching Panda bears and it reminded me of her... Sweet peas and panda's.. Mom loved sweet peas... I have such beautiful memories of my parents..  This is one thing that cannot be taken away... They are there always... One of my favorite memories of her is seeing her in the kitchen, cooking breakfast in her pretty summer dress with her lace poke- a-dot apron and heels... Mom always wore a dress and heels.. She was such a petite little woman.. Five foot 2 " and a heart of gold. I have one of her tiny aprons.. White with red dots...  Anyway,  here is my Panda...  She is already spoken for, but wanted to share with  you..  I hope you enjoy her, and the music.
Thank you all so much for your most welcome visits and kind thoughts... I always look forward to  your visits and visiting  you all.

Lovingly needle felted over a wire armature in a blend of beautiful wool fibers.  Glass bead eyes,
Her claws  are wire wrapped in wool.. She has a firm needle felted core, second coat was felted in and then scissor cut.

Enjoy the upcoming weekend... Thank you so much for visiting.
                                                                Blessings,
                                                                   Penny

  4. Ahhhh.....here I am, awake! I had come by last night after I heard a little GRRRRRRRR and found this darling little panda rolling about, eating her bamboo....here I am, just waking up to start my day, and I see she is here, charming all who are to come. Penny..OH! the music...teeehee..with the little GONG in the background. You find the best music ever to accompany your magic. How can I "bottle" the fresh scent of magic and love you create? I think I must write something about your weaving powers of magic through your art my friend. This is precious as ever.

Now little Panda girl, I must leave to go to work. Have a lovely day rolling in the grass, gnawing on bamboo, bringing a smile to all who pass here.

    LOVE!!!!

  9. Penny,
Truly envisioned your sweet Mom standing in the kitchen dressed in her Donna Reed fashion style with heels and lace polka dots on her apron. Penny through your words, music and your artistic hands visiting you is magical. The Panda is amazing and precious. What talent you are graced with. The pink flowers behind the Panda made for such a sweet photograph. Sweet pea was my nickname for one of my cats, Holly a very petite Maine Coon. I can not eat sweet peas without recalling loving thoughts of Holly as I am sure sweet peas release tender loving times spent with your Mom.
    Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs,
    Vera

  12. What an adorable panda, linked to so many sweet memories! A pupil told me the other day I should adopt a panda to take care of the bamboos that come in my garden from the neighbour's! Maybe this one would love munching on my bamboos!

  15. Penny,
Your panda bear is so sweet. How nice that you have special memories of your mom cooking breakfast and wearing her apron and heels, and that you still have the red and white polka dot apron that she wore. That must be a treasure for you, and I'd love to see it someday on a blog post. I have a few things passed down to me that belonged to my mom, and I will keep them forever.

Your mom liked panda bears, and my mom loved teddy bears......I knew we had many things in common. Panda is so cute, and is yet another amazing creation of yours.

    love,
    ~Sheri

  16. Dear Penny,

Love the sweet Panda bear - how darling.
Also loved the sweet music and reading about the special memories of your dear Mother. Sweetpeas are such pretty flowers and always remember my dear Mother growing them on the trellis near the back door.
    Happy weekend dear friend
