Bebe and I are taking a little blog break... See you soon

I will be off the computer for a bit..  Thought I would leave you with photos of  two Children's books that I picked up at an antique store in Temecula on my last visit there.   They are delightful books about a goat named Billy Whiskers.
I am curious if any of you are familiar with this series...  I could only afford two, there are many more, so as I am able I would like to collect more.  Published in 1909
First up is Billy Whiskers Kids

    What great books sweet Penny!! I love the illustrations and the super-neat clothes they wore. I also found an old children's book I could not pass up and would love to create one or two of the characters. It is entitled "Fuzzy Bear", featuring a happy large headed bear...so adorable!

    Enjoy your break, I have been doing the same so I can devote more time to my real dolls and the ones in the DollRoom. But I do miss my compatriots and have to visit when I can. Love you!! Rose

    I am finally here! Oh Penny and Bebe, you two deserve a little break, but NOT TOO LONG NOW, you hear?

    OK, you are sharing a very special story here. I love this series, and though I do not own any of these in my collection, I have seen them, and they are precious. This is the style of illustrating that I love so, and don't you just love how the artists of that day captured a special innocence in the children and the animals?

    HEY! Is a goat in your felting future? It would be a hoot to try!

    Oh Penny..I will miss you!! I feel like I haven't been as good a blogger as I should have been...I have been busy with my web store and Facebook and the blog just went by the wayside. But you have always been so good to come and visit even when I wasn't there.

    Have a good break...Love the books you bought. I love vintage books. I loved the illustrations.

    Hi Penny! I hope you are enjoying your break from blogging an find a lot of inspiration! Sometimes, when I am reading blogs I find so many things that I want to try and make ...and in the end I it´s kind of TOO MUCH ideas and I make nothing. Then I also take a break from blogland :D

    I LOVE Billy whiskers, and have a copy entitled " Billywhiskers Twins" dated 1911. You found some gems. I wonder how many books were in the series, it would make for a fun collection. Have a nice break Penny!

    wonderful books Penny! I have heard of these..when I was a child, I remember some of these books in the makeshift library..the book mobile! Can only vaguely remember, but it sparked something in me when I saw the cover photo! Hope the mini blog break refreshes both you and Bebe! Much love always, Christel

    I love these antique books, and I am familiar with Temecula very much. Isn't that the most wonderful town? Where did you get the books, if I may ask, as I know most of the shops in old town. My favorite is a little vintage shop, and the Starbucks is the most charming one I've ever been to.
