My wrist is acting up again, so it will be time for a rest.. I just ordered a really nice wooden tool that holds 5 needles, this should cut my time considerably, I hope, and giving my wrist a break. If you needle felt, I know you understand completely.. When I am working on a piece I just don't want to stop, but I have learned my lesson..
Gatsby the Fox Terrier was lovingly needle felted in natural and Merino wool over a wire armature.. He has inset German glass eyes. His nose is felt.
He measures 6"x 6".
I feel bad I have ignored poor little Bebe... She keeps asking, when is my turn? She has been such a good little mouse, maybe I should turn my efforts to her for a bit. You think?
Thank you all for taking time to visit with me.. Your words always lift my heart.
Love,
Penny
Dear Penny,
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful your sweet Great Gatsby is, I love your darling Fox terrier.
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble with your wrist. Hope the new tool will help and good idea to have a little rest.
Many thanks for visiting me and it is always a pleasure to see you.
Sending hugs and hope you are enjoying the week
Carolyn
I always love to see your comment here Carolyn, and I always, always enjoy my visit in your little part of the world.
DeleteEnjoy your week
I love that little guy! I know what you mean about certain creative forms taking a toll on our hands/wrists. I finally gave up knitting baby caps due to the fact that my fingers were acting up... especially my thumb. Oh, well. I will never give up creating... I'll just move onto something else!
ReplyDeleteI am sure my hand will be fine.. Sorry you had to give up your knitting, but you are right. We move on to something else, never giving up creating. Thank you for your visit
DeleteHOLY COW!
ReplyDeleteI have to come via email....Penny, you are at it AGAIN! CHEERS AND BRAVO AND A HOOT AND RRRRR for this wonderful TERRIER, my favorite DOG OF ALL TIME!
GOtta go to email....
I had to come again to inspect this little man! Look at his back legs; he looks like a terrier that is on show here. They position the dogs you know, to inspect their hind quarters, their head and their grooming. And that is what Gatsby looks like, like a fine "specimen" on show! But we know he is in PLAY POSITION!
ReplyDeleteAgain my friend, your talents just keep developing and bringing so much charm into our hearts. We love you. Anita
Bonjour cher ami!
DeleteYour praise just fills my heart!

DeleteI just LOVE the photos of your dogs this week on your post. Adorable. I don't know how many I will make, but I do know it will be more.
Good morning sweet one. It is a joy to see your creations blossom and give such beauty to the eye and heart. LOVE THIS GUY! teehee...I love his legs!
ReplyDeleteGatsby is incredibly handsome! I do love his posture. He reminds me very much of the late Jack, our Jack Russell -- not so fluffy around the nose, but the colors are much the same. Jack was a shaggy or rough-coat JRTerrier and not the skinny, short-hairs. I always though he and the fox terrier had great affinity!
ReplyDeleteJeanie, your painting are just wonderful!
DeleteYou are very talented.
Thank you for your kind words!
Good afternoon Sir Gatsby! THE GREAT GATBY, I presume?
ReplyDeleteteeheee

ReplyDeletePenny, he is adorable and yes, needle felting can be a hard work with you felt hard to the core like I used to. I am glad to hear you got the group needles, that should help out a lot!
Thank you for stoping by Penny and visiting my sweet pea, she is the apple of my eye!
Thank you for your note... my children are doing well according to the Grace of God and so do i!
Love you,
Pat
Oh, your poor wrist. You need to take it easy...I totally understand though how it's hard to stop when you get going on a project. Gatsby looks like quite the gentleman. Oh, and your Chicken Inspector? He is GREAT! Love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your stopping by and your sweet comment. :)
Heidi
Me again, I had to cut my visit short yesterday, some squirrels were calling to me. (almost finished) Dear little Bebe is feeling neglected? Oh dear, we can't have that! Dimity will bake her a pie, it has 3 different cheeses in it AND sunflower seeds! That should make her feel better.
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
ReplyDeleteBebe is probably feeling a little left out, but knowing you bebe will soon have plenty of attention from you. Your new little addition (Terrier) is a handsome lad, he won't last long.
Penny we still love our grey mouse who sings opera and dances about on her stage of performance, Hannah is over joyed with her and won't let anyone touch her for fear of any messing up on her tutu of fluff.
Thank you my sweet friend for taking time to visit me, always leaving comments that joy my heart.
Lots of love to you and bebe, that poor neglected mouse.
Xoxo

I am so late here, dearest Penny!!

Yes, that is our dear Anita's favorite doggie, I believe!
You work amazes me and brings me so much joy...
I hope your wrist feels better soon, do take care...
My right hand gets numb if I'm doing detail work...it is frustrating when you want to keep going!
Sending you so much love, chere Penny...

Hello Gatsby,
ReplyDeleteYou are so cute.
Penny, it looks like it took so much time to create this little fox terrier. He looks very soft and adorable. And he looks so alert like a watch dog. I do hope that your wrist feels better, dear.
Have a wonderful week ahead.
~Sheri
