Fashions of the past

A few days ago I was going through my old portfolio and came across this watercolor painting I had done 24 years ago.. I love to paint as the sun comes up in the morning.. It is so very still and quiet... Thought I would share with you...

Last week I picked up my sketch book and spent quite a bit of time drawing... I would like to share them with you soon.. I have posted one of them on my sidebar... I hope you enjoyed viewing..

Love and blessings,

Penny

  2. OK, there is so much joy here. First of all, I see MISS THANG over here with her DARLING LITTLE PARIS PARTY DRESS!!!!!! My how she has GROWN! Look at that little FROU FROU of a skirt she has!

THEN....OMGOODNESS PEnny, I cannot believe your sketching!!! 24 years ago??? This is absolutely beautiful. And the early morning is special, isn't it my dear? Creativity and fun and peace are ours in the morning and I am so thrilled to see these treasures that you share with us today.

MERCI for hopping on board the plane with me today; look out the window and enjoy the view of Tea Rat and Rattus's countryside....see that little tea shop? Tea Rat wants to meet his Nowhere gang members there one day.

LOVE TO YOU MY PRECIOUS and most TALENTED FRIEND! Anita

  5. Oh Penny, what a joy to see a visit from you, and bigger yet is a compliment that encourages my art in painting what was once old and thought to be less than what it is. Now for you my dear one, nothing measures up to the brush in your hand, one that paints as you do with water and paper that tells a much prettier picture, it truly is of beauty and I adore the work and story your art tells.

Thank you for sharing your past art and your future art always inspires.

PS...I think she is wearing my lip color :)

see you soon over at anita's link party for I will be included in on our Paris link party! and I noticed I will see you there as well, sooooooooo! excited perhaps your little friends will accompany you on the trip :) see you all there in that case.
    xoxo

  6. Dear Penny, love both the old, and new paintings. I can see subtle changes in your style, but still remarkable that I could look at this 24 yr old painting, and pick it out of a crowd, and say, yes, this was beautifully painted by my friend Penny. Lovely work as always Penny. xoxox Christel

  8. Hi Penny...
It always amazes me how much your paintings look like people I know and love. I always see my mother in your paintings...especially the one on the sidebar...she used to wear her hair like that. The black and white adds to the beauty of the sketch...Love them all!!!

  12. You definately have a marked style that was just as evident in your older painting as it is today in your newest ones. To me, your *style* is gentle lovliness, Penny. You are the genuine definition of those two words. Just visitng here and sitting for awhile brings peace to my soul...lovingly, Rose
