Just a few photos of my roses and my one and only Iris.. I have been spending so much time outside lately I though I would share. Everything is in full bloom and some are on their second round and ready to bloom again. See that small raised planter in the last photo, well, this past week I just finished building it, planted some Statis and lavender.. Got up this morining only to find that the dear rabbits have taken all the tops of the lavenders off as well as the statis.. They must have been ~trying it out~ because they did not eat it... All the blooms were laying in the planter... I hope this means it is just not their ~ cup of tea~ as it were..
In the backyard I have a rosemary bush that I am attempting to sculpt it into the shape of a (big) rabbit.. (no photo yet) I cannot say that at this time it looks like a rabbit, but I am working on it... Wishing all a safe and happy weekend.
Blessings,
Penny
Beautiful Roses Penny! I wish they were at my doorstep. The smell must be intoxicating. I do have five petal wild roses, honeysuckle, and day lillies on my fencerow, I love the smell. Thank you for sharing the wonders of natures...God is also an artist! xoxo Christel
ReplyDeletePENNY!!! WOW! O.K., I always get really excited when I see something that you have done, and I need to compose myself!
ReplyDelete1. Your sweet house is so tidy and gorgeous.
2. Your gravel and planter are superb.
3. Your blooms are so healthy and puffy; two things that make me stop in my tracks.
4. Those naughty bunnies. They do the same here to people's tulips...they are sharpening their little teeth and literally keep them sharp by trimming off the stems of the tulips and leaving everything there! Tisk, tisk, Peter and Benjamin!
5. And in all of this back-breaking but WONDERFUL WORK, you came to take a breather and to visit with me. You are precious dear friend. I too, spent the most gorgeous day yesterday in my gardens. I started about 7:00am and worked until about 12:00. The sun, the air, THE POLLEN even, gave me such a lift! I cleaned up and my thyme garden is so lush and the boxwoods are in full bloom with the softest and brightest green leaves. AH! THE JOY OF SPRING....LA JOIE DE VIVRE!!!
Bisous ma belle, and OH! Don't you just love Jasper's big brothers! If I had a standard poodle, I would call him Claude.
Love ya! Anita
Beautiful flowers Penny -Gosh you have a lot roses!!! that like pink is so pretty in front of your house and I love that pretty peach one. Im spending outside everyday too on so many projects and it makes me too tired to paint afterwards so hopefully ill get caught up and finish my art progects Sincerely ,Jonny
ReplyDeleteWhat a glorious showing, I do wish I could grow roses.... but they do not like me. The scent must be heavenly.
ReplyDeleteThose naughty bunnies need a good spanking!

Oh Anita, you are so kind.. Thank you so much. I still have alot to do with my humble home but it will get done, God willing..
ReplyDeleteYes, those little bunnies need to stay out of there, but how can you get upset with them. I can't... They are so sweet.
Bisous, Penny
Dear Jonny
ReplyDeleteThank you my friend.. I know you love roses.
The peach rose is called Mother of Pearl.. It is probably the only one I have that does not have a strong scent, but it is a beautiful rose.
Warm regards, Penny
Hi Jeri
ReplyDeleteAlways a pleasure to see you here. Thank you so much.. Yes, the scent is really something.. When I walk up to the porch it is heavenly.. My favorite is the Winchester Cathedral.. It has and Old rose scent with a hint of honey and almond blossom. Take care, Penny
Good morning dearest one! THose roses are just magnificent. The aroma must be invigorating and sweet and those little bunnies.....oh dear! They are too sweet to scold or chase; we have many that just yesterday, were giving me a show in front of my studio window. They were chasing each other and doing the mating dance. One would hop straight UP into the air over the other; that must be the male, trying to impress the doe!!!! Heheheeeee.....they all do some kind of "dance" to make us laugh!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous weekend....I can't wait to see more of what you have been creating and thank you dearest for stopping by again. Have a lovely day; I have school today, but ohhhhh, what a delicious rest these past 3 days!
Love to you and Mista Jasper! Anita
Thank you for visiting this beautiful morning Anita... Yes, the bunnies are so sweet.. I love to watch them and the birds in the wee morning... Have a great day.
