My granddaughter Brit was able to get a few days off work this week and came out to spend some time with me. She always has sketch book in hand.. When she was little and would come to visit with Nana, (me) my daughter would make sure she had packed her sketchbook… We would * draw to the music * as she would say… Beethoven, Chopin and the Andrew sisters… I would like to share some of my favorite pencil sketches that she has done over the past few years with you.. She does not sell her original works, instead offers quality prints.
Brit is in college now, an Art History Major and is the light of her Mothers life. To me, she is a true blessing from God. Thank you for walking down memory lane with me.. I hope you enjoy viewing her work.

ReplyDeletePENNY....these are unbelievable.....so realistic and they look like photographs! The emotion in the eyes and as I would say in French, "Dans son regard, il y a tant d'emotion!" WOW!!! Brit is like her grandmother! This is really something. Bravo and what lovely memories you have to keep and share with us!!!
ReplyDeleteBonne nuit mon amie, Anita

Dear Anita
ReplyDeleteShe will be thrilled with your comments.. It is a shame that all the detail does not show up in the eyes here.. I have watched her draw the eyes, I am in awe.
Goodnight dear friend,
Penny
Jaime

Penny, how wonderful to share memories of you and your granddaughter painting and sharing your creative genes. You can literally SEE that you passed on your own creativity to her ! I always pity people, who simply can not be creative in ANY way, I find they lack the best of this world.
ReplyDeleteThe portraits are stunning and they "come to me through the screen". Extremely beautiful work, so delicate and so full of expression.
Have a wonderful weekend, kind regards, Martina
I HAVE CLICKED FOR THE DETAILS and they are stunning multiplied to great proportions! Wow.....what a gift, Penny!
ReplyDeleteAsk her for MORE!!! Heehheeee! Can she do animals? Anita
Hi Penny, My gosh does she have a real talent!!! She does very realistic work.It is wonderful that she is going to school for what is clearly her passion. It is so neat that you and your grandaughter were able to share this wonderful love of art together since she was a little girl. Have a great weekend, Jonny
ReplyDeleteOh dearest one, thank you for coming to my post....ARCHES....YES!!!! There are more in the future. Oh, Minneapolis is in love with arches. You should see the homes with arches! Hello Jonny
So nice of you to drop by.. Yes, I agree with you.. They are realistic... It is hard to see in the photos here, but there is so much details in the eyes.. something I am still trying to master... Thank you for your encouraging words.
Dear Anita
Oh yes, I would love to see more! please... Thank you for visiting Bebe on Nowhere...
Dessa Rae
Thank you so much... I would like to share a few of her paintings soon.. She has only done a few, one was taken from a photo of my Aunt in the 40's... I believe it was her first painting, which she did in black and white.. only a little color used. She is not use to using color, always pencil in hand.. I thought she did a wonderful job.
Thank you for your kind words.
Blessings to all of you for your kind words.
Penny

Beautiful drawings Penny..... I am so impressed! How lovely for you and her to share such fond memories. *grin* Thank you for sharing with us! Smiles~
ReplyDeleteWell, If all it takes is the magical music of Chopin, The Andrew Sisters and some Beethoven to inspire and create such art, we'd all be fine artist. I should listen to this music and see how it inspires me. Toadstools, a gnome or two and of course, a few frogs in dresses...teacups and teapots...amazing stuff that Chopin music! It creates artist in our midst! Beautiful work, she should be in art school, the world needs to see more!
