Hello dear friends,
Enjoy the music.
It is that time of year again. Angels in my heart, rendered softly with my hands.
Embrace the gentle souls who walk this earth. Embrace the birds that sing in the morning hours, the sounds of forest creatures who make their way across the earths pathway. Give of yourself, the love and kindness you find in others. Embrace life, hold on to your faith, knowing that all can find happiness when we walk together as one.
It has been my honor and pleasure to get to know all of you. Your kindness over the years will always be cherished. Wishing you all a joyful Christmas this year and always.
This relief evolved many time as I went along.. In my art, it always in the eyes that I find the meaning of each piece I work on. Once I see this it gives me a more final direction. This was truly an exercise in emotions, and then a feeling of joy as I completed. I hope her embrace will lift your hearts.
I have used earth tones in several washes. Terra Cotta, Burnt Umber, Raw Sienna and Green Mist. It measures 14" x 12"
I tried to capture the true colors in the photos, although I know monitors differ when viewing.
Thank you so much for visiting.
~ Embrace ~
The photo below was taken at a different time of day. The true colors are a slightly darker. I enlarged it so you would be able to see the details in the face.
Love and blessings,
Penny

Penny, she may be one of your most beautiful. She has the most wonderful face filled with love and gentleness. What a treasure and very fine work on your part.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Jeanie. I am happy that her gentleness emerged.
DeleteI adored your post..
She is beautiful, Penny. All the details and time you spent creating her. The music, your words, your art, I love everything about this post. I like how you start with the eyes, as it gives you meaning for the whole piece. Yes, we are definitely thinking the same thing lately. And thank you for your sweet words on my post. : )

*Are you calling her "Embrace?"
You are so sweet, Sheri. Thank you.
DeleteYes, she it titled "Embrace"
Your post just warmed my heart.
Oh Penny, she is lovely! I love the music and your heartfelt thoughts today, especially! ♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, Martha Ellen!
DeleteI also enjoyed your post. Thank you for taking me along to the Lake District. Your photos were just beautiful!
Penny, your latest angel is even more beautiful than all of your other beautiful angels, your words described her, and where she stands for, so well. I loved hearing the music whilst reading your words, it was a heartwarming feeling, thank you.
ReplyDeleteI want to say thank you for each of your kind words on my blogposts during the past few years.
Have a lovely Advent/Christmas time for you and your family, dear Penny.
Blessings, Ilona
Dear Ilona,
DeleteWhat a sweet thing to say. You are too kind. Thank you so much.
You know, when I went to visit your blog, If I did not know better I would think the plant was real. How you create in such a tiny fashion is beyond me.
Wishing you and yours a beautiful holiday season and a blessed Christmas.
dear heart....I am totally moved to tears. Not only are your introductory words so well penned, your spirit of artistry has been revealed: you work from the heart. You have always taught me that, since the early days of Nowhere. I never learned to let go in my illustrations, always staying "within the lines." You have taught me to explore, and that, I've done and continue to do.
ReplyDeleteThis piece is monumental on different levels. Not only has she brought out a poet in you, (love your intro), but her beauty is reminiscent of the old frescos from ancient times. The wreath on her head is supreme. Her eyes are beautifully rendered, giving her that ancient but wise look. You have done a marvelous job of unearthing your poetic voice and the poetry of your hands. BRAVA!!!!!!!!!!!
Dear Penny,
ReplyDeleteThe music is very touching, it sinks deeply in my heart. Your new Angel is fabulous, excellent work. I love those staring eyes. Thanks very much for visiting my blog.
It's the most wonderful time of the year......love Ria x ❤️
ReplyDeleteThis is so beautiful. It is wonderful to look at....thank you for sharing your gift with the world!!!
ReplyDeleteShe is so lovely Penny. Angelic indeed. Thank you for your reminder about the angelic nature of daily life, your words ignite the heart.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your friendship here in blogland too.
Beautiful words, Penny, my heart felt them. The relief is so beautiful, too. She has such a pensive face, and I love the colors you chose for her.
ReplyDeleteBlessings always,
Victoria
Dearest Penny - your angel is just so beautiful. I wish for you the same blessings that you have sent in every post. What a pleasure to always visit you - thank you always for your uplifting words and encouraging remarks when you visit me too. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteLovely sentiments dear Penny, you are a true kindred. I can see dozens of your angels covering the ceilings in an medieval church, how wonderful that would be! All gathered together for all to see. This one is particularly interesting, her expression seems to switch between innocence and wisdom, depending on the angle from which she is viewed. How do you see her?
ReplyDeleteEmbracing you dearest Penny...and when I'm looking at your amazing art I can see your beautiful heart..xoxo...
ReplyDeleteSending you Christmas Greets Dear Penny from all of us critters in the Hollow!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas dear Penny and best wishes for a wonderful 2018.
ReplyDeleteSuch a gorgeous Angel and love all the detail you have shown. Sorry I have taken so long to come over and visit but you have been much in my thoughts.
Thanks for visiting me and the kind words.
Love and hugs
Carolyn
