At the end of my street, you see a view of the rolling hills
Driving at little closer..... Still there
Very odd, don't you think? Would be nice to come out on the porch and be able to see the hills.
Oh well, I guess I can walk down to the end of the street..
Although my roses are not in full bloom, I wanted to share a few photos. I am so happy that the leaves are coming back. This was the first year in 7 years that they lost most of the leaves. Now just look at them! Still waiting for the buds to open.
And last but not least, please meet Ivan... Crocheted with loop yarn, stuffed and needle felted.
I hope he made you smile.
Fred and Ethel ( rabbits) came for a visit today, but as I ran to grab the camera they took off.
I will try again soon.
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend.
blessings,
Penny
Penny,
ReplyDeleteWow the disappearing hills are a really interesting oddity.
Seriously wow! Ivan is adorable a cutie pie for sure. Love his needle felted looped yarn. Ahhh Fred and Ethel the pair that hops together looking to munch on Penny's flowers... Do Zoe and Jasper want to chase them? I have a little brown bunny that comes to visit me in Spring. Your roses are going to look amazing!
Thanks for your visit Penny I always love when you do.
xoxo,
Vera
Vera,
ReplyDeleteI thought you might find that interesting about the hills. Ivan and I thank you for your kind words.
I have the grassed area fenced in, so Jasper and Zoe cannot get to the bunnies.. They hang out on the other side of the fence.. Before I had fenced it in Jasper never chased them. He would just sit and watch. Zoe, on the other hand would take off like a little bullet! They are bigger than her, but she did not care.
Yes, I am looking forward to the blooms on the rose bushes.
Thanks so much for visiting.
This is so cool. These Hills are playing peekaboo! And the lamb, oh, it surely has a nickname: Wooly :)
ReplyDeleteHahaha, when it comes to the bunnies, my Hobbit would chase them... to clean them! He wants to clean everybody...an surely anybunny, this strange guy.
Somehow you live like Alice, isn´t that wonderful? And WARM! Here it is yuuuaaaghhh, WET-Ice-cold, no spring at all :(
So huggies to wonderland, enjoy it, my dear Penny, Méa
Hi Mea,
DeleteThey sure are playing peekaboo!
So happy you enjoyed the lamb. I can just see your hobbit chasing down the bunnies to clean them.
Sending you a warm hug!
Dear Penny, Ivan is most charming - i want to cuddle him right away! Love your pretty roses too - enjoy your weekend, hugs from germany!
ReplyDeleteThank you Martina! I just love your latest painting. Wishing you a beautiful weekend!
DeletePENNY!!!!!! I know what you mean about the hills! Yes, it is a very odd visual effect and I have experienced this before!!!!!!! Also, I remember back in L.A. during the 60s, I would be able to see the San Gabriel mountains from my house, but then some days, there were GONE! I'd ask my mom where they went and she'd say God took them away. I thought, "Why would God change His mind?" teeehehee...later to learn it was our pollution!
ReplyDeleteOK, IVAN the sheep is PERFECT!!!!! This yarn is the absolute perfect material to make an oodle of curly animals, and he is SPOT ON PERFECT! You made me smile. Mission accomplished! And tell Fred and Ethel to come out. I want to see them!
OK dearest, I will be back. Gotta run...
Is that an odd visual or what!
DeleteThe loop yarn is a bit of a challenge to crochet with, but I was pleased with the results. So happy you enjoyed.
Oh that Fred and Ethel, I will have to keep trying.. They are camera shy.
Ooo just look at Ivan!! He a wonderful expression of mixed media beaming with a delightful spark of personality!! Penny dear I just love how you are incorporating crocheted yarn pieces with felting! He is so handsome!!
ReplyDeleteYou roses look so pretty I am looking so forward to Spring! ( I am under the weather now with the flue sigh)
It is fun to see how perspective change so drastically in certain places! :-)
Wave to Fred and Ethel bunnies for me ((my Fred and Ethel are snakes living in my ancient basement...I named them, so they were not frighting!! tee hee ))
Sending warmth love and blessings, Linnie
Linnie dear... Thank you so much!
DeleteOh no.. You have a nasty flu? I hope you recover very soon.. You have a Fred and Ethel snakes? How funny...
Sending you a gentle hug. You get well.
Owww so sweet ...love it...beautiful roses happy weekend love Ria x
ReplyDeleteThank you dear Ria! Enjoy your week
DeletePenny, too bad you can't see the rolling hills from your house. It looks like you live in a nice neighborhood. I use to love to see the hills of Temecula when I visited, they always reminded me of mountains. Your roses are blooming more than mine are. I have nothing yet. Still waiting for that first bud of spring. Ivan is sooooo cute, and he DID make me smile. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's raining pretty hard here today. I hope you get the rain this weekend too.
love, ~Sheri
Hi Sheri,
DeleteOh yes, the hills in Temecula are so beautiful compared to these.. They are GREEN! Everything is so lush and green in Temecula..
Thank you for your kind words.
Oh yes, it is raining here too! I love to bake when it's raining.. I baked a French Vanilla cake today...
Very odd, those hill photos. The hills must be enchanted. Reminds me of a Donovan song 'First there is a mountain, then there is no mountain then there is.'
ReplyDeleteI'm trying to get back into visiting my friends' blogs this year! Life goes on, doesn't it?
love and hugs,

Yes, Penny, that's indeed quite a riddle those vanishing hills, very odd ;)! It's so nice to have some sunny weather, I wish we had a bit more sun here. Enjoy your sunny days!
ReplyDeleteIvan looks wonderful, it's great work!
Have a nice weekend. Hugs, Ilona
I SO LOVE IVAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good morning, sunshine! Even though it's raining out your way and it's gray here, our friendship always makes me feel happy. Thank you dear friend for coming by my blog. That means a lot to me.
ReplyDeleteThat is pretty neat actually as we do not have hills in south FL unless you count the bridges. I love Ivan , he is so adorable and perfect creation for Spring & Easter!!
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week!
xoxo
