Please meet trésor de la mer my little Sea Treasure polymer clay pure sculpt

It has been a long time since I have  picked up my clay.  It was fun to sculpt this wee little mermaid.
I hope you enjoy.
She is a mere 2 1/2 inches in length and her tail is 3 1/2" made of translucent paper..   I also sculpted the shell she sleeps in...

Thank you so much for visiting.. Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.

  1. Penny , She is beautiful. Such a very sweet peaceful face and the crown is remarkable in sea foam with a coral look to it and gold tips. So safe in her cozy shell. Such a treat to view your talents . Truly beautiful.

  4. HOW IN THEE SAM HILL DO YOU THIS? My fingers do NOT understand how this detail and beauty can be achieved as such! Penny, this is tiny, and for you to get the mouth (la petite bouche) so perfect is beyond me! I am so happy to see you are back at sculpting, but we take breaks and YOUR breaks away from clay have produced other wonders that again, leave me smiling. How I love this little one, la petite sirene de la mer. BISOUS BISOUS!

  6. OOOO! To catch each other simultaneously while blogging, that's FUN! YES! I LOVE HER! And to think that it's been a while for you? I suppose like anything (me and my harp, for example!) that if you put something aside for a while - weeks, months even, but if you pick it up again, the GIFT comes right back. It become a part of our thinking and motor skills. Penny, she is JUST DARLING! And your work has to be seen and held to really understand the detail and SIZE in which it is made. LOVE IT!!!!!

  24. She is so precious, and charming...like a beautiful pearl in an oyster shell.
Oh, I do love the angel and woman painting I posted too...it is such a profound painting.
I still have found another digital photo of an angel with wings, and winged feet, and also he has a winged helmet as he is rescuing what appears to be a woman in distress or she is dying. I have looked forever at images online of angels for months and months and no success.
    Take care,

  29. Dear Penny,

How absolutely sweet and adorable! Your little mermaid is MUCH better than the first thing I made out of polymer clay, way back when, a mermaid on a real shell. My camera was so poor I couldn't get a good picture of her, and she's long since broken. May your little sweetheart live long and prosper! :)
