What's a Harold you say? Pretty silly looking, don't you think?
I thought I would include a few WIP photos.
Well, I'm working on it
Still working
Don't you just love my new Needle felting
wood tool? It will hold 5 needles.
Ouch!
Was someone talking to me?
Hello.. you may call me Harold...
I like shinny things.. Is that wrong?
I am quite large, don't you think? Mum got carried away.. I kept growing and growing..
Nine inches tall...
See ya! On my way to my new home!
This little guy was needle felted with the most beautiful grey wool, (except his face) thanks to Sophia, who lives in the Hollow with dear Jeri Landers.. Please do drop in and say hi ..
The white and black wool is alpaca wool, which I purchased a while back.
He is gently posable, toes are wire. Inset acrylic eyes..
What a lovely surprise it was to receive an email this morning to let me know he sold. I had just listed him yesterday on Ebay.. I am truly blessed, and very thankful.
Oh happy day!
Thank you dear friends for taking time to meet Harold.
blessings,
Penny

Dear Penny,
ReplyDeleteHarold is amazing and I had to look twice, he looks so lifelike and love his shinning bright eyes.
I can see why he sold so quickly. The needlefelting tool is neat with been able to hole five needles... and ouch, please be careful.
Thank you so much for visiting me and I hope that you are having a happy weekend
Sending hugs
Carolyn
He is so realistic and has so much detail. Glad he found a happy home.

Thank you so much for your visit. I took a break from blogging and only been back a short while. I love Harold, just precious. We have real ones that come here at night and they are very large. Hugs...Lu
ReplyDeleteWow Penny you really do a fabulous job of needle felting. Harold is one very fine raccoon. Amazing how you felted so much character into him. Creative Hearts are Happy Hearts...
ReplyDeleteOh, he's such a cutie, no wonder it sold so fast. You're very talented.
ReplyDeleteOh Penny!!!!
ReplyDeleteYour raccoon Harold is amazing! I have been wanting to attempt needle felting little figures of my dogs, but I fear it will be so difficult!
I have some needles and roving and felt and wire... and even some afghan hound hair to felt into them. I watched a YouTube video yesterday to see how to begin, so it was fun to see your work in progress!!!! I may need to ask you for advice when I get started. I have other projects in progress that I want to finish, a fairy house and another miniature garden.
Blessings!
~ Violet
Violet, I cannot wait to see what you create! I will be watching..
DeleteBeautiful, Penny. And what a wonderful new home for Harold!
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard for me to believe that you can turn a wee armiture into an adorable raccoon! Yours is much cuter than the real thing, I think! Bravo!
ReplyDeletePenny you amaze me with your talents ! Harold looks very realistic ... like he just stepped out of the woods to say " hello"

OOH< that Rotten little Harold has been stealing eggs again! That is why he has such a gleam in his eye and his tail is so bushy and full. Penny, you have done it again, he is a winner. As soon as I start making some money off this book, I am going to ask you to make my 3heep.... on wheels?
ReplyDeleteHi Jeri,

I HAVE MISSED YOU SO MUCH. Oh Penny, just trying to keep up with emails while at my cousin's house was very difficult. I had a SUPER TIME with my family (they are hilarious) and I spent my time with them. But here is another world that enchants me, my daily world of following such creative souls...and you my dear are magic.
ReplyDeleteOK....HAROLD? ARE YOU A THIEF? I think so..you like shiny things, eh? I see you coping that necklace...ARREST THAT BANDIT! teeeeheeeee
HE SOLD? EXCELLENT! You are spinning more magic here, and everybody, get out of PENNY'S WAY! She is wielding a sharp weapon that spins out magic.
Oh how proud I am of you!!!!!! Back later in email. Anita
I had to come by to take another gander at this guy....look at that TAIL! The tail must be fun to make, seeing that you have churned out a very successful squirrel (CHESTER THE PESTER) and that fabulous fox! Oh Penny, this guy is divine!
ReplyDeleteRight near Anita...yippee!
ReplyDeletePenny, dear friend, I hope the weather is a bit more bearable where you are...
But look at this darling one you have created!!! I love Harold! :)
We had a little raccoon poking around the garbage can a couple of weeks ago...he was so cute!
And of course...shiny things are the best! :)
Take care and many hugs to you,
- Irina
Oh Penny, Harold is just darling! I loved seeing the WIp..who would ever think you could create this mischievous darling little guy like this? But then again, you can create just about anything you set your mind to with wool..you are fabulous at grabbing our hearts with these sweet animals!and at creating them all with such personality!! Love him. xoxo Christel
ReplyDeleteHarold is so cute! How do you come up with these designs? Do you have patterns? I am thinking you just wing it and really have a gift for this stuff. Regardless, you are blessed! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Heidi,
DeleteNo patterns or kits, just my imagination and a reference photo of a live animal. Because I make a wire armature for most of them, I can pose the little creatures as I wish...
Thank you so much for your kind words..
blessings,
Penny
Hi Penny, It was so really nice to hear from you. I love Harold, beautiful work - Its amazing to see how you start and what it becomes! you can really see you put your heart in your work because Harold has such a sweet face. I truly believe when an artist is passionate in what they create, that love and passion is always felt by the viewer, to me that is the greatest gift that artists share. It was great to visit you ,I have been working non stop on my dining room and yardwork I cant wait till the day I can put my room in boxes back together and have more time for other things seems, like it will be soon though.Sincerely,Jonny

Hello Penny,
ReplyDeleteJust came by to see Harold again. He's sooo cute. It has been very hot here, but is a bit cooler today, and I'm very thankful for that. I don't do well in the heat as I get older.
Have a wonderful day.
Love,
~Sheri
How interesting to learn more about how you do this, Penny. You have quite the creative mind that God has blessed you with. I hope you are enjoying your summer and the weather isn't too hot. We have been having nice weather...but I am very grateful for air conditioning. :)
