I am playing Sentimental Journey for mom... This was one of her favorite songs.
Below is one of my favorite photos of her... She was in the Navy, where she met my father.
It is clear that she loved Dad with all her heart..
For Mother's out there ~ and all women ~ I would like to give you virtual roses... From me to you.
These are my bonicas, now in full bloom.
Happy Mothers Day,
Love and blessings,
Penny

What a lovely tribute to your Mom, Penny, thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteThe roses are really a sea of roses, it is fantastic to see. I thank you for the wonderful roses and I will pick some of them for offering them to you: Happy Mothers Day, Penny!
Hugs, Ilona
Your Mother was beautiful. Love the smile on her face looking at your Dad.
ReplyDeleteAnd love 'Sentimental Journey'. Haven't heard that in a long time.
Happy Mother's day to you!
Oh Penny, I am so glad that I took a break from my work to see that you have posted.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say...appropriate words about mothers, especially mine, come only once, like a miracle, and I feel at a loss at what to say about mine this year. But I can say that both your parents were stunning, obviously in love, and passed on a legacy of kindness, creativity, laughter, wonder and courage to YOU.
Though I'm not a mom, thank you ANYWAY for these roses that express a gentle quality that I know your mother had and that my mom definitely possessed. The music is so apropo for this time of their lives, and sentimental is the perfect word to describe what we feel this weekend. THANK YOU DEAR FRIEND for all you are to me! Anita
The photos of your mom show her to be a beauty and her smile at your dad is showing her love for him.

HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY PENNY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHi Penny,
ReplyDeleteHappy Mothers Day!
My parents both joined the army, my mother as a nurse, and they were shipped out overseas the day after they were married during WWII. How interesting that both our mothers were in the military!
Your photos are a treasure.
