Hello dear friends.. I hope you are enjoying the holidays... Because I have injured my wrist ( too much needle felting) it looks like it may be a while before I can create so I thought I would share a few gifts of love from the past.
It is the 19th and my wrist is just fine now.. Thank you all so much for your well wishes.
My father built this ship above about 40 years ago.. When I look at it I have such fond memories of my dad in the evenings at the table always creating something. He also made a ship in the bottle.. I wish I knew what happened to that, it was so beautiful.
My beloved gave this to me for Christmas 15 years ago... Noah's ark hand carved and painted.. We were shopping one afternoon and I mentioned how beautiful it was..
Christmas morning it was under the tree.. I will treasure it always.. I know when I think of him as I admire it he is looking down and smiling at me.
The book behind the doll was a gift to me from my dear Mother...
The title is Thank you for so many things..
My mom had a heart of gold and here she was thanking me... She was a wife, mother, poet at heart, and taught me how to get through all of life's little challenges with grace..
This pretty little Christmas doll was gifted to my grand daughter from my daughter about 20 years ago.. They both wanted her to stay with Nana (me) so every year when my children arrive there she is, safe and sound.
My Santa from my dear brother and his lovely wife.. It seemed like every time they would return from Europe they would bring a gift for me.. this one in particular is very special to me.. Can you guess why? teee ~ The artist ~ he is from Germany..
Beautiful hand painted plate from Denmark. Don't you just love these tiny gnomes?
My grandfathers prayer book.. The pages are so old I hesitate to handle it.
The metal angel belonged to my mother in law. Time worn and beautiful, don't you think? These are just a few of my treasured gifts. I hope you enjoyed viewing.
Last ... A few elves I have made over the years... I had every intention of making one each... Well, that did not happen, but I think I will start to add more next year.
Zoe had to have the last word...
Jasper, Zoe, Bebe and I would like to wish you a blessed Christmas.. Thank you so much for taking time to visit and bless you for bringing so much joy into my life this past year.. Your friendship, inspiration and encouragement have brought happiness into my life.. We all have our creations that ~come alive somehow~ and I have been touched by so many of yours. I count my blessing each day..
I hope you can take time to listen to the song by Sarah Brightman..
On my side bar at the top.. Just click the arrow... ( Thank you for your help dear Irina)
When I first heard her sing many years ago, her voice touched me deeply... It is, to me, a voice of an angel.. I hope you enjoy ~A child is born~
Love and blessings,
Penny
Oh Penny, I do not know what it is about you, but there are times, like tonight, where your posts just make me weep. It is as if I have a shroud of love embracing me as I read your words, see your creations, see what you cherish.
ReplyDeleteThat beautiful chair from your beloved one....I just can't even tell you how much it means to me to know that you HAVE such a great love with this individual who loves you still, and always will. These memories are what Christmas CAME TO GIVE US.....to give us the love to live out each day, through tough times and in good, to make a life with those we love.
Zoe and Jasper are precious. Your life is precious Penny....and you have been and always will be to me, a sister and a partner in FUN, FROLICS, IDEAS that never quit, and a partner in this journey of discovery.
I LOVE YOUR GNOMES and I pray only that your wrist will heal; please follow up on it however, if it continues to be a problem.
I am here dearest, I will be at the computer all night!
LOVE YOU! Anita
Hi Penny,
ReplyDeleteYour ship that your father made reminds me of my father-in-law, he made several ships in his retirement years, and now they belong to his children and grandchildren.
This time of year we are reminded of loved ones in our lives, and when we have something that belonged to them or that they made, it is even more memorable.
Your doggies are so sweet and I know they bring you such joy! I pray your wrist heals quickly, give it a good rest!
Blessings,
Violet

I just had to come back to see that incredible ship and of course, SIR JASPERLOT and ZOE!!!!!!!!!
Dearest Penny,
ReplyDeleteI cried all the way through Sarah's song. I miss my mom and my dad and it made me think of you loosing your husband and how hard that must be but it also gave me hope for the furture, my little Alder born, all those I love in heaven and I believe I will see again oneday. It made me think of this precious life we are leading daily and how we are each here on earth for a purpose. I believe it's God perfect plan the very hard times and the very blessed and good times. You've managed to wiggle down in my heart even deeper and then you add memories of your dad and brother and your love for the pups and life lived so meaningful. The chair, made me cry too because I know the deep love of my husband for me and he would have done the same thing for me.
I wish you peace and comfort beautiful little girl at heart. That is what Christmas is all about, eternal life given to us. You will surely be with them all again.
Oh yes, the gnomes make my heart spark!
The Danish plate, is special to me too. I lived in Denmark and got engaged once upon a time...for six months...I lived on the North Sea in a town called Hvide Sande (white sand)...goodness, I'm writing a letter...not a comment...
Poof, I'll be back!
Oh beautiful Penny....IT IS SNOWING HERE LIKE MAD! We are loving it and it is the "wet" variety; meaning that it is not as cold out so it is mushy snow, but it is finally here. The bunnies are frolicking in it and so are those funny squirrels. There are paw prints EVERYWHERE! The bunny tracks look like cowboy boots!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE YOU! Anita
My dear friends,
ReplyDeleteTo have your kindness and friendship is a true gift to me.. Thank you all so much for your warm words and wishes..
Love and blessings,
Penny
Dear Penny, the song, coupled with the precious memories you shared brought tears. You are such a kind person, and it has been MY pleasure getting to know you better throughout this year. I hope 2013 brings us even closer as friends, and fellow artists. We too truly appreciate the gifts you bring from your heart and hands.Precious tiny friends, like Bebe, bring so much delight to all! Lastly, the little chair/step stool is lovely..I can see my Andy doing the exact same thing..matter of fact he has when I say something is beautiful, or how much I like it..he will go and get it. Your beloved obviously loved you very much, and is indeed smiling down on you every day, so proud of his beautiful wife, and soul mate. XOXOX Christel

She has yet to get a name, but one will come.
