You may notice I added a few elements to the painting that were not in the photo.. A quite place under the tree. Good book, sunhat and basket of grapes for a little snack.. Oh... flowers of course.. I just had to add a few... Sit with me awhile and enjoy the quite sound of nature.. I hope you have enjoyed my interpretation of this beautiful place.. You may view the photo Anita so graciously shared with me on my last post below... She passes Minnehaha creek, (located In Edina, Minnesota ) each morning on the way to her little school.. As I mentioned before, if it were me I would never make it to school... Who could resist resting awhile....
I hope you have enjoyed viewing.
Blessings,
Penny

WOW!!! PENNY YOUR PAINTING IS JUST GORGEOUS MY FRIEND :) HOW I WOULD LOVE TO WALK OVER THAT BRIDGE AND GAZE AT THE WAVES IN THE WATER SURROUNDED BY THE BEAUTIFUL GREENERY :)
ReplyDeleteXO~MARI
I am finally here; after having quickly peeked at your blog while my students were taking a test, I knew I had to come back to comment when I was at home. I knew that I could not do justice in my comments in a big hurry at school because this post means so much to me Penny. Not only did you capture that lovely bridge that I hope you can see one day upon visiting me, but you personalized it with GRAPES, a GOOD BOOK and flowers. This tender gesture of beauty has me in tears in the moment as I had a bad experience today. I want to see the world through only love, but there is so much betrayal in the world. Your act of sweetness here and your INVITATION is just what makes you the Penny that I have come to love so much. I have had the honor of meeting you, eating with you, laughing with you, having so much fun by "your side" while drawing that I am touched by this so....it is a beautiful expression of a lovely place, a lovely thought. And again, as I comment here, it is so enchanting to see sweet little Bebe and Co. glide right by me.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear friend...you made my day so much better.
Anita
Oh Anita... I am so happy you found joy in this painting.. Yes, had to put grapes there.. We love them right? Someday, God willing, we will be able to really sit under that tree..
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your precious words..
I am so very sorry you had a bad experience today... I sent you an email...
Grab yourself a cup of tea and realx with Ruben.. You will be in my thoughts dear friend.
BISOUS!
Penny
Greeting Mari
ReplyDeleteSo kind of you come for a visit. Thank you dear friend for you encouraging words.. Wishing you a wonderful week.. Yes, I think we all would like to actually walk over that bridge.
Blessings to you
Penny
Oh I just had to come to sit under this tree again with my friend. We need to have at least 2.5 pounds of grapes dearest...the green ones. But I know where we can go really quickly to get good purple ones...just down the road from this bridge! One day dear one, one day....you will find many inspirations for painting. Just on the other side of the main st. is another community of fabulous cottages, mansions and homes along side of the creek; they are magnificent. I will try to take some pictures of this lovely place, but if you saw it in person, you would want to paint it.
ReplyDeleteOh, those were yummy grapes...let's do it again!!!! Anita
Anita
ReplyDeleteAre you saying we could walk from the bridge to get our grapes? How great is that! I know the green ones are your favorites my dear, but... so much green in the painting I thought purple would be a better choice. I would love to see the homes on the side of the creek.
Love to you!
Penny
Thats a lovely drawing, and what a beautiful place Antia gets to walk past.
ReplyDeleteMe being a dog could not have the grapes!
Oh well a paddle in the water would be nice.
Have a Great Weekend
See Yea George xxx
The colors are just beautiful and so true to the photograph. I have a lot of trouble painting water, but you seem to have captured it nicely. I always hold my breath and say a prayer before I start painting a river or stream in watercolor. Is this acrylic or oil?
ReplyDeleteOh Jeri... Thank you, but I think I need much more practice on water... I too hold my breath and also curl my toes.. Have not fiqured that one out. teeheee
ReplyDeleteThis was done with acrylics... painted on wood.
I really miss working with oils... I used them for over 25 years, just cannot deal with the odor of the turps anymore.
You are such an amazing artist Jeri.. I just love your work. You are a true inspiration.
Thank you so much for wandering over to visit.
Penny
Hello George
ReplyDeleteThank you.. Did you run all the way over here? Yes, I know grapes are a no no for you George, but you could make a little splash in the creek.. My best to mum and dad

My lovely Penny,
ReplyDeleteYou always make wonderful art, you are such a talented lady. I love everthing that you made.
To sit onder that tree and eating those grapes how wonderful that is. Maybe there is a bottle of wine hidden in the river to cool?
Penny you can buy oil paint that you can used with water this is a new kind of oil paint. Ask in your local art shop about oil paint on water base.
A big hug ,
Liliane
Dear Ann
ReplyDeleteTo be one step away from JRR's fairy world would be pure magic! Thank you so much Ann for your thoughtful words.. I am so happy you enjoyed viewing.. Your world inspires me so.. I always enjoy your visits here.

Warm greetings Ana
I wish we could all sit and relax under that tree.. Thank you dear friend for your most welcome visit and kind thoughts.
Bless you!
Penny
Dearest Liliane
You are so sweet... Thank you dear friend.
Oh yes.. The creek would be a great place to chill a bottle of wine..
You know Liliane, I remember years ago reading in an art magazine about this water soluble oils.. Then when they came out on the market I was going to try them but to this day I have not picked any up. It just never made any sense to me... Oil and water don't mix.. Well I guess they have change the chemical structure so it does... Also I was afraid the oils would not have the same brilliance and depth that tradition oils do... I personally don't know anyone that has used them.. Do you? Have you tried them Liliane? I would be interested to hear what people think.
Thanks so much for visiting
Sending a hug your way
Penny
Isn't it just the most relaxing time to enter into the world of art? To sit and draw and paint and dream and to put our heart into each brush stroke...I'm sure at times looking for perfection and at other times letting the brush flow where it desires.
ReplyDeleteI think there is a hidden artist in me, that likes to come out, on rainy days when nobody is home but the gnomes.
I find joy in the painting. Knowing of course, it's near to both you and Anita's heart.
I featured little Bebe on my blog today in an effort to send readers our way to Nowhere. It's such a special place, not to be missed.
Peace be with you today.
In kindness,
Jacqueline
Greetings Jackie

My precious dear,
ReplyDeleteDAD was your "DANCE INSTRUCTOR"? My daddy was too in the sense that he woke up that spirit in me with his piano playing. As soon as these muscular little legs of mine were able, I was doing grand jƩtƩs in my living room to the tune of his piano and CLAIR DE LUNE...yes, daddy taught me how to dance and be imaginative...thank God for our men.
Love you dear friend, Anita
Dearest Anita
ReplyDeleteYes, like your dad, in the sense that he filled my heart with music and love of art.. I would stand on his feet, hold on tight to dance. When I grew up he would wisk me around the dance floor like Fred Astaire. What a beautiful dancer he was.. Dad was such an inspiration and loved to play the drums. Always encouraging me in everyway.. Yes, thank God for our men.
Come to Nowhere when you have a moment.. Bebe is having a fundraiser for her NEW poot poot.
Bisous my dear friend
Penny
