Birds of a Feather Watercolor pencil Fantasy art
I have been working on a few drawings this week.. They are rendered on 4x6 inch cold press watercolor paper using my watercolor pencils and ink.. These are my fantasy birds, and I am really enjoying this. The originals are now available on ebay if you would like to visit their auction.
Wishing everyone a beautiful weekend.

Hi Penny Sweetie...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh these watercolors are just beautiful. I couldn't pick just one.
How fluffy the feathers look on the owl, and his eyes are so gorgeous. He is so watching over this beautiful little fairy. I love her little face and her wings so light and airy.
The other beautiful bird, stands as still as time so as not to disturb her little traveler who is resting from the long journey. The feathers on her head are so awesome and the feathers on her wings, so realistic.
Oh Penny sweetie, you have truly taken my breath away with these shares. You truly are so talented and I am so grateful each and every time that you share your talents with me.
I hope you have a beautiful Saturday sweetie.
Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

Beautiful work Penny! Love the Owl, my daughter is a huge owl fan. I too would like to one day try my hand at watercolor painting again..tried a few times, need MUCH more practice! Your work speaks volumes Penny, from your heart.xoxox Christel
ReplyDeleteGreetings Judy
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.. Well, I have much to learn, but I do enjoy it.. Watercolors are not as forgiving as oils or acrylics, but if you get it right the results are beautiful. I am still not there yet, need much more practice.
I think you should give it another shot Judy.
On these I used my watercolor pencils.. Have you tried them?
Thank you for your most welcome thoughts. You are so kind.
Wishing you a wonderful weekend.
Blessings,
Penny

Penny, Penny, Penny......I am so BLESSED to see this fabulous work. First of all, I had a CRAZY FRIDAY and I now am not able to look at my school computer to check my home emails or my blog ( I used to at least be able to check on my prep hour or lunch) but these days, even our personal quiet lunch time is consumed with running to make copies, meetings and nonsense. Dearest, thank you for coming to my post; you may borrow any dress you want, and I not only think of you when I have my tea....I wish you were with me in my studio, in my front room, sitting and chatting and laughing and eating something lovely with our vanilla tea. THIS OWL brings joyful tears to my eyes and this is why. Before my parents passed, they both took an art class together at the community center. They were both given the assignment to paint an owl. While my dad's owl was PERFECT (he was very gifted), my momma's owl had a more comic characteristic like MY OWN ART!!! teeeeeeheeeee...I got a little of both of them.....but I always cherished those owls, but unfortunately, they were lost over the last 23 years that we have been away from California. Your owl has brought back sweet and fond memories of those peering eyes and gentle feathers....Penny, those little faeries on the birds are just stunning. I am so happy to see you drawing dear one.....I am working on my next article today for the emagazine; the next issue is coming out on November 15 and I need to submit something! But Ruben is loving his art work again, and thank you for inspiring us...Mille bisous ma chère amie, Anita
ReplyDeleteDear Anita
ReplyDeleteYour words are like music to my ears.. Thank you so much for your constant encouragement.
What a touching story about your mom and dad.
I wish I could have seen the owls.. I am so sorry you do not have them any longer. I am happy to know I sparked a happy memory. I know your article for the next issue will be wonderful! So good Ruben is enjoying his art.. I hope to see something soon.. Enjoy your day dear one.. Create, create, create!
Bisous!
Penny
I confess, I peeked at Anita's post and learned more about her. I loved her owl story. It's so amazing how one persons art, can touch a heart so deep.
ReplyDeleteYou may want to come and check my post tomorrow where I have been on the receiving end of artwork that touched my heart and brought back my mom. I believe you have done the same for me.
Enchanting work...beautiful Penny. Expect an envelope from me next week sometime.
Dear Jackie
ReplyDeleteYour post today has touched my heart.. I cannot wait to read more.. Thank you so much for your continued support and your kind words. It is apprecited more than you know.

Penny,
ReplyDeleteI just love your art (drawings and sculptures). They conjure a place of innocence and magic that my soul longs for, and, without in any way trying to be self serving, peace, as when the world was young and animals could speak (or is it, when we used to listen?).
Three cheers, a hoot and a rrrr.
Ruben
Oh Ruben, you just crack me up.. Three cheers, a hoot and a rrrr..
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your most welcome visit and kind words. I am touched that you find peace in my art.. and yes, I think it is when we used to listen..
Blessings dear friend
