There is a story behind this painting I would like to share with you. Years ago, I was at the beach and saw a young women walking in the sand. When I returned home, I made a sketch from memory.. I was looking thought my sketches and thought I would attempt to bring her to life.
Painting was accomplished with fine acrylics on a 16x20 stretched canvas. Her wings are rose petals (over 250) from my garden that have been treated and sealed for durability.. It took over four hours just to lay in the petals, but the journey was an enjoyable one. I hope you found her pleasing to the eye... If you would like to visit her on ebay~ click the rose~ on my side bar and it will take you there.
OMG that is another magnificent piece of fine art, Penny! Just lovely! Oh, I have so much to tell about my experience as an artist.....but I want to say that I thank you for coming to Nocturne! YOU SAW YOUR BEBE! She must have snuck out to come and see us!!! Well then, she isn't far from Miss Paisley...we all here in Nocturne must catch that train to SD. I hope you are enjoying your day; we are. I have been making a book for a friend, writing by hand the little story I posted for her about a month ago with little illustrations to go with it. However, on Monday, both Ruben and I go back to work and busy lives will be resurrected from this most fabulous rest, just like your little Aili to my right!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a marvelous evening dear one! Anita

Penny dearest! What a nice thing to say about my hair! As I get older, it is getting more challenging to come up with a do that I can wear WITHOUT coloring my hair. I refuse! Thanks so much for your kindness. OH! I saw Bebe...she was hanging out with the Pink Lady! Same colors attract! No worries; the Pink Lady is a lady and she means no harm. She will take care of Bebe and send her home immediately!!!
ReplyDeleteHave a nice sleep...I am off. I finished my little book and I am bushed!
Ciao! Anita
What a gift if we could also be surrounded by the perfect peacefulness of your Eternal Light Angel. I find some of that peace here in your blog, Penny, and in the blogs of precious friends as we embrace one another's places of creativity. May that carry us joyfully through the New Year on the wings of angels...
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your beautifully inspired painting!

Dear Penny, what a beautiful painting you have created! Such a sense of true peace radiates from her. The inner light shines through brightly! Bravo my friend. It is obvious your new year is off to a wonderfully creative start. Hugs, Christel
ReplyDeleteHello Precious Penny! You are so much fun! We are determined to find your little pink miss today....I think the Pink Lady has stolen her away ONLY to take her under her wings and teach her the ways of a Pink Lady. They may have skipped off to the beauty parlor and then to have a manicure....in any case, Bebe is fine! Oh I am so glad that the Dutchess came by. She is a dear, dear friend who is extremely talented. I hope you have a chance to visit her two blogs, THE DUTCHESS and HILLTOP. Talk about an imagination and talent....her drawings are special and her Miss Moussie would be a wonderful friend for Bebe. The Pink Lady is too grown up for Bebe!!! So happy dear one that you have climbed on board of our merry band of like minds. We are having so much fun! Oh! And there is another fabulous person you must meet. Patricia Cabrera. She too is an artist like you. She does everything. She paints, she does wool and sculpts like you. I have three of her works. Just click on the grizzly bear on my side bar and he will take you to her! TOday is the last day of my vacation. I will be back at work full time, but I will always find time to visit. Keep 'em coming! Have a splendid day! Anita
ReplyDeleteWhew! I see Bebe made it home, thanks to the old and large Mozes! She did have a bit of a detour with the Pink Lady, but no harm was done! You might notice that Bebe's little fingernails are painted....PINK, but it is washable. Have a splendid day, the both of you! Anita
ReplyDeleteDear Penny~ I have been meaning to come and rest here for while..... I absolutely *love* your paintings ... your subjects are delightful . As Christel, Rosa, Anita has decribed , I too, sense the peace and teh gentleness of your angels.
ReplyDeleteBebe is adorable and wonderful . I love him.... I must fly to Nocturne and see what is the everyone is talking about!*grin*
I wish you a wonderful and prospere New year! Love~
Dearest Penny,
ReplyDeleteYou are so kind to visit Nowhere and leave such sweet comments about my drawing. I am finally venturing out on my drawing that I left behind since I was a teenager...that is about 40 years ago! I will most definitely be posting my art thanks to the wonderful Dutchess and my sweet sister Patricia Cabrera who have encouraged me to draw. You are so sweet....Anita
Penny! Thank you for visiting CCC! And your comments are dear and mean very much to me! I am so glad that you enjoyed my illustration!!! I will be drawing more. And yes, little Bebe had so much fun with the Pink Lady....The Pink Lady enjoyed her very much....in fact, I think they went to have one of the "Glamour Shots" taken together....we just might see a little portrait of them together! Anita
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your kind words and encouragement.. Dutchess, Joanna, Christel, Patricia and Anita. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart...
ReplyDeleteBlessing,
Penny
Dearest Penny,
ReplyDeleteOh Thank you for coming again and cozying up to each room of my post! Don't you just love these rooms? If I could, I would have my entire home in just these earth tones of tan, off white, grey....because they are calming colors! Thank you for asking about my first day back at work...you know, I am a teacher, and being a teacher is very demanding, and you often feel like you can never please everyone and that you don't do enough. It is so difficult. Oh well! I can only do my best! Off to work I go, but you are so dear to come back. God bless you, Anita
Hello Penny! Your painting is just beautiful! I love the details you put in the wings. Angels...what glorious beings!!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteBonsoir, Penny!
