A while back my sister and I thought it would be fun to attempt a drawing of this childhood photo. Mine in pencil, and Connie did stippling in pen. I would not even begin to stipple a portrait, as I think it would be so difficult, but I believe she did a great job.
Below is the photo of us.. I am on the left, sis on the right.

My rendition in pencil
This was a fun exercise. I hope you enjoy.
Wishing you all a beautiful weekend. It is much too hot to go outside today, so I will relax inside. I hope this is not an indication of what summer will be. I find as I age it is more difficult to tolerate the heat.
I would like to thank all of you for being so kind as to stop in and visit.
blessings,
Penny

Oh Penny, wonderful. I can't do portraits to save my soul. Yes, of animals. No of people. This is lovely.
ReplyDeleteDearest friend forever, good morning! Penny, I've told you before and I'll tell you again: seeing you blog brings me back some of the best memories of my adulthood. The creativity let free and strengthened by the companionship of your creativity has enriched my life. What a fun project indeed, to work with Connie and to express yourselves in this way! Both methods are beautifully rendered and I agree; stippling would be HARD to figure out! Your pencil illustrations are always so good my friend. Yeah, another hot summer to come. So far, we are mild in the 70s and enjoying every moment of it. Many loving hugs to you dear friend.
ReplyDeleteOh wow-these are so beautiful! I love them both!
ReplyDeleteLovely….!….have a nice week my friend love from me and Leaf 🐾💗🐾

ReplyDeleteThis is sweet, Penny. I like your sister's drawing, but I think yours is so precious, artistic, and dear. Sisters are special, and I just talked to mine on the phone today. Although we don't agree on everything, I am fortunate to have a sister to share my thoughts with. I'm with you, Penny, I can't tolerate the heat in the Summers anymore either.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week.

Well those are remarkable! You both did a fantastic job!
ReplyDeleteHats off to both you and your sister Penny...what a wonderful rendition that you both achieved in the two differing mediums. It is such a sweet portrait of the two of you. I hope you have a delightful Memorial Day. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteHello Penny, I enjoyed looking at both renditions of your photo. Actually both are great and very recognizable from the original photo. Sweet photo of both of you. Have a good weekend.
