Hello dear friends..
This little girl has been on and off my table for some time.(Inspired by our dear Lily). I thought I would try painting the eyes this time instead of glass eyes. What do you think? I am pleased with them..
Armature in the arms and torso only.. She will be in a fixed sitting position.
I have to admit that the feet and hands are my least favorite portion to felt.. So very time consuming and tedious.
I ended up making another set of hands. These were not right.
Legs now attached
I think I should have used Merino wool for her hair. I may change it.
She is all put together. A few adjustments, then fashion her a dress.
Thank you so much for visiting. I hope everyone is enjoying their summer.
Love and blessings,
Penny
HOLY SMOKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI am joyful, I am smiling, I am in awe of how in THEE WORLD you get the checks and mouth and everything else down to a TEE!!!!!!!
Penny, you are gifted. I don't understand how you do this, but your work as a sculptor has developed your fine motor skills to such levels. I can't wait to see her all dolled up in her little dress. Bravo my friend! Love her so much!
Anita,
DeleteI am so happy you like her! Thank you so much for your most generous words. And I loved your poem!!!
She is darling, Penny. It looks like so much work went into making her, but she turned out very nice. How wonderful that little Lily inspired you to create this doll. She has a sweet smile.
ReplyDeletelove, ~Sheri
Hi Sheri,
DeleteYes, she was more work than I had anticipated, but she was a joy to create. Thanks so much Sheri...
She is lovely-and I agree with the above comments. I am so clumsy with felting-and I seem to make my hands hurt! Thank you for the kind words at my blog!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Debra. You know, after felting for a while my wrist does get sore too.
DeleteThank you so much for visiting
Oh Penny Little one is absolutely adorable...love the blue eyes and she looks so sweet. I can feel the love you had in making this special girl. So happy you shared. Have a great week. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Debbie. I enjoyed your post, and loved your watercolor.
DeleteI think her eyes are wonderful...well, really all of her is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Victoria
Hi Victoria,
DeleteI found that when painting the eyes the wool needs to be felted very firm. I really liked the results also. Thank you so much!
oh my goodness, she is absolutely adorable! Her feet are dear as can be. You are so talented and your art is wonderfully expressive Penny. Happy Summer to you!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Tammie!
DeleteHappy summer to you too.
She is indeed adorable, Penny! And the music is very enchanting!
ReplyDeleteI am glad you can hear the music Linda. Every time I am here it is not working
DeleteThank you for visiting.
Penny, she's magnificent. I can't believe those tiny fingers and toes. And I think the eyes really work. I'm surprised in that I wouldn't think the paint and felt would connect so well but I think I may like it better than the glass eyes. Very soft. She's adorable!
ReplyDeleteYes Jeanie, you can paint on the wool, but only when it is firmly needle felted, otherwise it is a mess!
DeleteThank you so much.
So sweeeeeeeeet love ❤️ Ria
ReplyDeleteHello dear Ria,
DeleteThank you!
Great job Penny! She looks darling. I admire you for those feet and fingers, so tough to do on animals, but to do people digits would be even more difficult. I've never attempted making a person with the wool, but you've got it down perfectly!
ReplyDeleteJeri,
DeleteI am sure if you attempted a person it would be magnificent! Thank you for your encouraging words.
Dear Penny,
ReplyDeleteYour little dolly is gorgeous and how delicate her little feet and hands are.
Lovely that Lily inspired you to make the doll.
Hope you are enjoying your summer dear friend - here we have winter but it has been mild here.
hugs
Carolyn
