A French dream home

A French Chateau
Needle felted for
for Gabrielle
with love

Bonjour!  My name is Gabrielle
Please allow me to show you around the Chateau.

While in Paris,  I came upon a beautiful black boot..  So very soft, it must be made of wool.  It was just standing there on the cobblestone sidewalk.  Not a human in sight.    Not many mice would have thought to turn a boot into a French Chateau, but I did...
A little work here, a little window there... Awnings to put up, turquoise and black stripes, this would be nice, don't you think?

This little fellow in the window is Jock..  He will be assisting me in the remodel..  He is quite handy indeed... Being very tiny, he is fast as can be..  Did a nice job installing new rivets, and has completed the windows..  Marvelous work, no?  Now I ask you, what mouse come to work in a jacket and tie?
Wait,  I will ask him to come down.

There you are Jock!  Please say hello to everyone...
Then I am afraid we must get back to work.
I must say
I love you poke a dot tie....

Bonjour ... Tellement agréable de vous rencontrer.

Jock, please stay inside and finish the upstairs... I will stand down here and see if I can find another tiny tourist to secure the last room in the chateau..

Merci  !

Hello dear friends.
I feel like I have been away forever..  I am looking forward to visiting everyone.. I have missed you all.

I hope you enjoyed viewing..  I started  this boot Chateau about a month ago...Although it was quite a challenge, I really enjoyed creating it.  Needle felted in sections, then I attached the pieces.
The boot is hollow down to the bottom window, then it becomes solid.. I did not have a plan,  I just started felting... The inside at the very top is lined with black felt.  The awnings are also needle felted.. The rivets are metal, the boot laces are cording.

Measurements:   Boot  9 1/2" tall
           Gabrielle      3"  tall
                Jock               2 1/2" tall

I hope you will stop in to see the completion... I need one more mouse, and must do some refinement on the Chateau..

Thank you so much for your visit.
blessings,
Penny

What can I say. My breath got caught in a few seconds of wonder with the first photo of Gabrielle, LA BONNE (or, La Domestique) - she is so darn CUTE! Then, to scroll down to meet JOCK (teeeehhheeeeeee) and to see this incredible boot château?????????????

Penny, the awnings! MY GOODNESS this is marvelous! Will they be on Ebay? I LOVE THEM ALL! But you captured a cuteness in Gabrielle that is a MUST HAVE. And little Jock....of course, like a French waiter, he is decked out in his black and white attire and is ever so elegant!

    YOU DID IT AGAIN!

Love it all. I WILL BE BACK!!!!!

      Just sent you an email..
That boot chateau was a real challenge, but pleased with the results.. Just need to clean up the edges.

  5. Uh oh.....Tea Rat got a glimpse of this. He wants to hire Gabrielle but I don't trust him. I think he's in love. He does however, want to employ Jock for some repairs around Wits End, but Rattus is three steps ahead on Tea Rat's plans. He just wants to fill the cottage with more friends! teeehehee...Tea Rat has to admit however, that he loves Gabrielle's outfit. She is wearing a proper maid's dress!

  12. Penny, thanks for stopping by today. Yes, this trew looks like it has a face! You should see it in person - it's the most peculiar tree, and at the top of the trunk it looks like an animal's face. It's my favorite spot to sit at the park, and sometimes this little squirrel pops his head out of the hole underground right next to the tree. There are some very strange and wonderful things to see in nature if we look closely hehehe. Those blue jays must have made you smile while making your coffee this morning.

Have a sweet day, Penny. :~)
