Roses Acrylic on canvas

Good evening..... This is what I accomplished today.  I have also been needle felting, but we will talk about that another day.... I have not picked up my brushes in quite some time... I really have missed painting, so I thought I would practice on small works till I can get back into the swing of things..   Tomorrow I think I will paint yellow roses...

Thank you so much for taking time to visit..
 blessings,
Penny

  3. SHEESH, WOMAN! If this is what you can do without having lifted a brush in a while, what can you do if you painted daily? I don't know, but I do know it would be mind-blowing! Roses are so hard to paint. I tried it once on a little wooden bed for Tea Rat (teeeheee) and he disapproved. That rat!

YELLOW ONES NOW? Ohhhhh.....do it, do it! Bravo to you because you always go for it. I'm sitting here trying to must up the courage to write a poem for my workshop group but fear grips me. I need to just do what you do and START! Look what you ended up with!

Big hugs to you dearest Penny!

  4. Penny,
Your roses are magnificent, even after a painting break you discover true talent has always been there. I've enlarged the photo and I adore the way you layered the background in the old Dutch masters style and gave the pink such depth.
I ask you friend is there anything you can not do? Your heart and hands create magic.
    XO,
    Vera

This is what I aspire to in my painting....thank you for the INSPIRATION! Beautiful.
Now I can't wait to see the yellow ones!
Are your roses still in bloom? Have you been getting rain?
We are in the middle of a dry spell and nature is begging for water.

Thank you, sweet friend, for your visit! Congratulations on winning Anita's tea set, I'm so happy for you!
It was indeed such a fun adventure...
Much love and blessings to you,
    - Irina

  8. Penny, these are a hundred times better than mine will ever be.I think they are lovely, soft and natural looking. I especially like the opening bud on the lower left. The highlights are perfect. It's like you never put down your brush!
