WIP Angel relief ~Love one Another~

As you can see,  I have a lot of work and rework to do on this piece... I am still not pleased with her face and will do some rework, but thought I would share my progress with you..  Sometimes when I step away for a few days (which is what I am doing)  and go back,  things will fall in place.

Wings to do, a lot of sanding and rework on gown yet.

I think the toes are ok, but I think her feet need a bit of rework.

I hope you all are enjoying the holiday season...
Love and blessings,
Penny

  2. This is work you do so well, from the intricate folds of cloth, to the strands of hair, she is lovely. As far as her feet, the toes do look good, maybe a thinning down of the front of foot? What do I know of such things! Just guessing!

  4. Hi Penny! Perhaps this is a stupid question from me, but what kind of material do you use here for this angel? Is it stone, soapstone or what? Are you sculpting or cutting with a knife in this? I am sorry for those questions, but I really can't guess.
Although I don't know what kind of material you're working with I think that Jeri is right about the foot...

    1. No such thing as a stupid question... This I was always reminded of by my dear father.
For the Angel I use paper clay.. I sculpt and carve with a few small tools.
Yes, that foot... I have been working on it today, I think it looks a little better. Thank you so much for your comments and questions dear Ilona.
      Sending you a big hug

  9. Oh dear my friend, I am terribly late! I don't know why this school year I am so behind; how I managed to blog timely while I worked FULL time is a mystery to me!

OK, this is fabulous. I so wish I could watch you do this; it looks like a process unknown to me, but that is part of the magic. The artist has tricks and methods that create this magic and it really should stay that way: a secret. It's like poetry. Like you said how you stand back for a couple of days then return to your work? Same thing with a poem or even a blog post. Time is an artist's secret tool. She is beautiful, and her toes ARE really great! Everything you make is blessed by God. Truly.

Oh my dear, I smile every time I think of you, and as I sign off, I wish you a perfect day of getting your angel to the point of perfection, and a warm and cozy day. MUCH LOVE! Back later! Anita

  11. Oh Peeny, I don't think her face needs any work, she's so very sweet and perfectly angelic. I must investigate how this relief work is done..I love the old world feel, and timelessness it provokes. Beautiful Penny, just beautiful! Love, Christel
