Last week I started needle felting Willow, my little love bird..
I just love all the colors of this wool.. She is now complete. Well almost..
Willow needs something to perch on..

Yesterday I was at my favorite little thrift shop in town and found this old candle holder.. A little cleaning and it was ready... I wanted to have something to set Willow on.. My first thought was a birdhouse, but when I saw this candle holder, bird bath came to mind... So, with a little paint, cardboard, thick medium, rose scented pods, faux flowers I created a little bird bath for her.. Below is my completed set.. I hope you enjoy...
Oh, my Goodness, Penny ~ how wonderful!! All your felted creatures are just sublime...♥♥ I hope to get one, as soon as I can!

ReplyDeleteDear Penny, seeing Tweetys colors, left no doubt who she would belong to! I have been meaning to get here, but for some reason, I have been having trouble posting, I get half way through typing a message, and it poofs!..leaving me to start all over. So far today, no poofing! Yeah!! Thanks so much for stopping by to see me, I also love this beautiful lovebird, So creative with wool! It's amazing to me how you can create such presice tiny animals with wool! As far as the new look of blogger..I don't see any changes. I tried the new and improved blogger interface a couple of months ago, and did not like the navigation on the page at all, so I went back to the old blogger interface, and apparently, not getting these updates..ok by me. You can't teach this old dog new tricks..at least not willingly..ha ha Have a great day penny, always such a treat to see a message from you. xoxo Christel

Dear Penny,
ReplyDeleteI love your darling lovebird, the colours are so realistic and how neat that the sweet bird is sitting on a birdbath. You are so clever and I enjoy seeing what you make.
Happy weekend

I am so enchanted with this little creation dearest, THAT BIRD BATH!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes my dear, thank you for coming to visit my post. Before I can hear my imagination, I do need some silence, because there is way too much going on. However, what comes MUCH EASIER TO ME is the writing. I can write in the middle of chaos or in a silent period. But to create ART that people want? I am not good at it...
Thank you for ALWAYS BEING THERE!!! Anita
¡¡¡wwoooooow!!!!, es precioso ese pájaro, los colores son una delicia y la bañera divina, me gustan muchísimo tus animales,¡¡son tan dulces!!, felicidades y un beso

hi Penny, today my blogger surprised me with the new blogger interface..which as I told you, I did not want..I found the way to change it back...
ReplyDeletefrom google chrome log in, when it opens your page should have a symbol that looks like a cog..the settings button..it's gray click on that, it drops down to reveal your chioce of old blogger interface!!! YEAH! hope this helps xoxox Christel
Oh my goodness...this little guy is just adorable! And that birdbath...how clever. You are so talented. xoxo Happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am in love, what a beautiful guy, and his feathers of many colors amazing work.
ReplyDeleteThank you my sweet friend for visiting my sing and fly :)
That little bird has chosen his shelter. Above it are the stars and the deep heaven of worlds. Yet he is rocking himself to sleep without caring for tomorrow's lodging, calmly clinging to his little twig, and leaving God to think for him.

Beautiful Sunday to you my dear.

For many years I wanted a pair of lovebirds, but I really hate to cage birds. This is a sweet birdie, indeed, and looks so like the REAL thing. Another wonderful creation Penny!
ReplyDeleteDuffy, Jemima and Eloise send their best regards!
Today you will find me at the ocean...
ReplyDeleteGoing to visit my son and his lovely wife.

HI, Penny
ReplyDeleteI had to return to correct my reference to as your willow being a him/his/he when its not a guy at all but a she/her/ girl when its a lady bird :) Sorry it wont happen again. I need to read closer next time, she is a lady bird of beautiful colors, and her wool feathers are divine.
If I Were A Bird...
"If I were a bird, I'd sing a song
And fly about the whole day long
And when the night comes, go to rest,
Up in my cozy little nest."
~by Jackie Silberg
What is joy?
It is a bird that we all want to catch,
It is the same bird that we all love to see flying.
Lots of love to you and thank you Penny for your beautiful return.
xoxo

Lady...you need to put your car in "drive" and head up to Crossroads Thrift Store in my corner of the world where you can find candle goods for 50 cents each! You could then be the Birdbath Queen of your neighborhood and mine! That is an awesome and creative idea and a perfect fit for Willow!
ReplyDeleteThanks for coming by to visit me, you are faithful and true, and I think Willow is too!
Stay out of that hot sun and hunkerdown in your own little birdybath...smile!
Hi Penny. How very lovely and creative! I love that bird bath and how you turned something made for something else into what it is meant to be. I LOVE that!
