Please meet Jemima... She has been a long time in the making.. I hope you enjoyed viewing my version ......of a very sweet REAL donkey that resides over at
Hopalong Hollow (you may see her on Jeri's sidebar) with the Mistress of the Mannor, dear Jeri.. An amazing Artist, Author, Illustrator, and a very dear soul.. I am so grateful to have come to know her and proud to call her my friend.
Jemima was lovingly Needle Felted over a wire armature and is gently posable.. Her undercoat was from Jeri's sheep, the softest wool I have touched... Her outer coat is brown Merino wool... She has dark glass eyes and her hoofs and bottom portion of her legs were sculpted.. I then fur over.. Had quite the time with those little legs... She is my first Donkey and was quite the challenge... No, she is not realistic, but I believe she has heart, and a little whimsey is always a good thing.. If she has made you smile, it has made my day.
She is on a 5 day ebay auction.. You may find her here if you care to visit.
Wishing you all a wonderful week...
Blessings, Penny

Oh how I wish I had enough in my piggy bank to buy Jemima! I must tell you that I rarely see a donkey but when I do I smile. I have a little donkey story.
ReplyDeleteYou see, when I was little at Once Upon a Fairyland my dad bought a donkey and I named her Twiggy after the doll. Silly because Twiggy was a big fat donkey. Little did my dad know that she would soon have a little baby donkey. We named her Little Leaf and she went to live with the neighbor.
I was a bit naughty and so was Twiggy. She would come to the fence which was at the back of the snack bar and mini golf course and she would ask for a drink. When my dad was not looking, I fed her hamburgers and pop...she loved pop! She loved me too, but not my dad. Of all things, she would charge at my dad, and never at me. I could lead her around the Western Town with the greatest of ease.
Now that is my true story, and I'm sticking to it.
Love you little Jemima. The hands that created you loved you. I just know it!
xx Jacqueline oo
