Ingenious Mr. Fairchild

Just living is not enough," said the butterfly.

"One must have sunshine, freedom, and a little flower."

  7. This has to be one of the most beautiful roses I have ever seen, Penny! And the poem that accompanies this gorgeous bloom gives an added dimension to it's beauty! It takes a very special touch to grow such delicate flowers well...and the rewards are seeing the heavnly velvet petals and basking in the fragrance! Thank you so much for sharing your bounty with us!!

My grand*children have been visiting for a few days, and we have had way too much fun here. But, sadly, Hali and I missed your hula Bebe...sigh. Her grass skirt was altogether too adorable!

We have enjoed two days of sunshine...thank you for sharing that with us as well...
    lovingly, Rose

  9. Warm greeting my dear friends

I have to tell you this.. Yesterday, I picked up my watering can and started to pour. Well, the water quit coming out. I thought to myself, maybe dirt, so I tipped it a little lower.. OUT came a tiny lizard... poor little thing, out of the ~spout~ I saw a tiny head, then two arms, then he went PLOP on the lavender plant.. I gently touched his back to make sure he was ok.. He looked up at me wandered off... I love everything in the garden. My roses, lavender, birds, bunnies and yes, the lizards.

Dear Pat, it is very hard to stay out of the garden when the weather is beautiful.. Thank you for the visit.

Dear Ann... Holy blessings to you dear friend. Thank you for your most welcome visit.

Dear Dutchess... Oh I have missed your visits.. What a joy to see you here. This is one of my favorite roses.. Has the scent of raspberry and almond.

Dearest Anita....Your words always warm my heart.. Thank you for just being YOU. Enjoy your evening. Bisous!

Dear Liliane.... It seems we all enjoy being out in our gardens.. Sculpting on your patio. Oh, that sounds wonderful.. as soon as I am finish working on my patio, I plan on doing the same..

    Hello Erin
On this we certainly agree. One of my favorite quotes and favorites places to be. Yesterday the weather was a little much, 90 degrees, really needed my sun hat, then today it went down to 62.. go figure..

    My dear Rose
It is so good to see you at my door.. I have missed your visits.. Oh I wish you could smell this rose... ahhhhhhh... I can just imagine what fun you had with the grand children! Thank you for letting me know you enjoyed Bebe.. Sorry you missed her, but with all the joy at home, it is no wonder..
Happy to hear you are having some sunshine!

    Greetings Ascension
I always do.. I think everyone here enjoys spending time in their garden as much as we do, yes?

Thank you all for taking time to visit. Love and blessings to everyone,

  10. Penny, I have been in the garden all week, what joy after a long cold winter. That rose has so many petals it almost looks like a peony. I took the plunge and planted 28 rose bushes this week. I hope they grow as beautifully as yours do!

  11. You sure can tell that spring is in the air.. Everyone seems to be in the garden. OH MY GOSH! You planted 28 rose bushes? Ok, my back hurts. I take my hat off to you Jeri. What an accomplishment.. Oh I am sure your roses will be beautiful! This one is a David Austin English rose. One of the reasons I picked this one was because I thought it looked like a peony also.. and the SCENT.. of raspberry and almond. ahhhhhhhhhh..

WE ARE HAVING SNOW TODAY! I need to keep looking at my Mr. Fairchild that you sent me to remind me of HOPE!!!

    BISOUS MY DEAREST! Anita

  13. Hello Penny....whistle...I see that you must be deep in the garden. Once you have found a lucky little lizard, you must follow him to his world beyond the plants. Perhaps he will wander to Nowhere.
Thinking of you, doing just what you are glad to do.
Anita has snow, we have rain and you...are sunshine!

  19. PENNY!!!! Ahhh....your visit made me smile, just like GEORGE with those TEETH! teeeeheee! Yes, it is ST. GEORGE'S DAY and I almost became a Georgia. I almost was dubbed BLANCHE, but my father wouldn't have it. Therefore, I am named after his favorite sister! Thank you for all the joy and friendship, the memories of a splendid two years of blogging and creativity. Like my sweet Ruben said above, when you come up in conversation, it is with great affection and respect for the work you do and touch with a gift like no other: tender kindness and whimsy....that little cake is SOOOOOO CUTE! MUCH LOVE TO YOU TODAY and I am thinking of you in your garden, playing with the lizards and bunnies...while we are still wearing our winter parkas! But yesterday we had rain and the tulips are starting to poke their green leaves out of the ground. See how late we are?

    GROSSES BISES, Anita

  33. Precious Penny,

You are so sweet to visit me and my momma. She was indeed a lovely soul who YOU WOULD HAVE LOVED..she loved fashioning little goodies from scraps of material and she would have ADORED BEBE!! I KNOW IT...I could hear her giggling over Bebe's little suits and accessories for she too would make my Barbie mini crowns, earrings and outfits. Oh dear, those were the days, but you give me so much of her love by way of the whimsy of your priceless creations that speak such imagination....love to you dearest friend, Anita

  37. Happy gardening Penny! It's too nice to be inside on the computer, my posts go way down at this time of year. There is just too much soil to be dug, flowers to be counted and joy to be had in the Garden.
