I just had to share this with all of you... Connie (sis) has been working on this for over a month.. I believe the only thing left is to finish the wood base she stands on... This outdoor sculpture was inspired by her grandaughter.. Having never attempted anything quite this large she said it was a challenge, and a ~figure it out~ as you go.. Using a variety of mediums to construct as you can see.. We made a few trips to the hardware store for materials for the armature.. I hope I have put the in progress photos in order... I would stop in to watch her progress and was really taken back by the enormous amount of thought and time this was going to take..
When she finished the sculpture she said now she knows what materials she would change in the future. Yes, I believe she wants to sculpt her other grandaughter, but the plans for putting them outside have changed... Sis said, I think they will sit with me in the studio...
I hope you have enjoyed viewing.. I think she did a fantastic job on this.. I know it was a true labor of love... Thanks so much for viewing my sisters work. It is a wonderful world, with my sister so near.....I have not laughed this much in a long time.. She brings me great joy.
Blessings to all
Penny

Dearest Penny, wow, I am impressed! Quite a bit of planning went into this, as well as skill! This is a sweet little girl, and life size? wow I have not even thought of attempting that yet! She did a great job, please post any further pieces she does, I would love to see a second attempt, considering how great this first turned out. My birthday was last week, it came, and went uneventful..which was wonderful! It seems every year something will happen to upset the apple cart so to speak, aroung my husbands, or my birthday. I had a lovely dinner with my family, and received several thoughtful gifts. It was a nice 49..now next year the party is on! haha 50 doesn't scare me as bad as 30 did..funny huh? I remember looking at myself at 30 thinking, I am never going to be young again, and crying. Now the onset of 50 brings a peace of knowing who I am, and what I need from this life. I have all those things money can't buy! More money would be nice too of course..haha FaeWee Blessings, xoxox Christel

How lucky you are to be close to your sister....wow, I so wish we could be close! And how is Bebe's next adventure coming along? I am soooo anxious to see!!!

ReplyDeleteMy hat is off to your sister Penny, she's done a wonderful job. I really enjoyed looking at the progress pictures, it shows just how much work she put into it, and I agree, I think I would decide to keep it inside and near me to enjoy. I've always wanted to create in a larger size, but just don't have the courage.
ReplyDeleteTalent runs in your family!
It must be fun having a sister so close.
