Hello again. So good to be back Please meet Rose

Dear friends,

It has been much too long since I have visited all of you, or  posted..  Sometimes life just serves you up a few challenges.  I have missed you all.  I am looking forward to visiting you.
The latest was Cataract surgery.  Right eye is healing and I am comfortable on the computer now for short spans of time.  Will have the left eye done in a few weeks.

I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a beautiful spring, and introduce you to Rose,  my little needle felted skunk.  She is available on Ebay.. I had finished her before my eye surgery, along with another piece.

I think I will probably find other mediums to work with until my eyes have healed.  I worry that working with the wool,  I may have fibers floating in the air when I pull the pieces.  I may be overly concerned, but I will wait.  There is always drawing and painting.

Below, please meet Rose..  She is in a fixed position .I  also needle felted her a resting place.

Wishing you all a beautiful week ahead.
blessings,
Penny

  1. Aww, Rose is wonderful and she looks so cute on her resting place, what an adorable skunk she is :)! I always love your needlefelted artworks, Penny. Being a nurse myself I think that you're right for being carefully, or not working, with wool, until your eyes are completely recovered. Take good care for yourself and I hope you'll quickly recover from your eye surgery.
Thank you for your lovely comment on my blog, dear friend. Blessings, Ilona

  2. Oh Penny, she is as sweet as all of the Nowhere creatures that have come and gone, and I know Rose will be in someone's hand, tickled pink, knowing she is loved. Your work is spun with an extra dose of love and great skill. SHE IS PRECIOUS! And I think you are wise to lay off on fiber work until your eyes are completely healed. Hugs to you my dear friend, and ROSE!!!!

  3. Oh my goodness, she looks just like my Mrs. Rose! She is precious, and I love the little leaf bed you made for her. I think you're wise not to do any more felting until both eyes are fully healed. Sending prayers and healing thoughts for you. Blessings, Victoria

  4. Happy Spring to you! I hope Rose resembles her name and not her species! Smart move, I think, to skip felting for a bit. You are so lucky you have many creative passions to do in its place.

  11. First of all, I want to wish you a quick healing for your eyes. That must have been a scary procedure for you, Penny. Rose is so cute, and I absolutely LOVE the name. She looks like a humble little skunk with those eyes. Yes, I think it's good to be cautious when making these little guys while your eyes are healing.

Happy Spring days to you too, Penny. It's been raining here this week, but the pink blossom trees are starting to come out, which makes me know Spring will be here in no time.

    love, ~Sheri

    1. Thank you, Penny, for stopping by and saying hello to Jess, even though I'm taking a little blog break. I just wanted you to know that I see all the comments coming through, as they come to my e-mail, and it warms my heart when I see one from you. : )

      Happy St. Patrick's Day, Penny.

  12. Your skunk is quite lovely Penny!

I am sorry to hear about your surgery, but when it is all complete and healed you will be happy. I have a friend going through the same thing.

The other day I had a skunk walking through my woods, even caught it on film.

    Lovely Spring to you!

  13. Dear Penny,

Rose is such a darling and love how sweet and small she is.
Happy Spring to you dear friend and do hope the recovery is going well and you won't know yourself as I remember when my Mother had the operation.
Take care and lovely to see you back as I was thinking of you the other day.
    Hugs
    Carolyn

  14. She is adorable! When I was a kid (2nd/3rd grade) we had a pet skunk who adopted us and lived behind the water heater in the garage. Have to say I LOVE Rose! I've been laid up with an injury so I can relate to having to make changes to accommodate. Not liking it but there it is. And yours is still my favorite header any and everywhere! Happy spring!
