Fred and Ethel

Hello dear friends... I am afraid I missed so many great Halloween posts, but I was bit by the flu bug.
I am feeling better today and thought I would share a few photos of where Fred and Ethel live.
The back yard is visible from my kitchen window.. I love to watch them in the morning as I have my coffee..
I cannot remember the botanical name for this bush, but the common name is potato bush..   Beautiful purple flowers..... This is not only their home, it also serves as their meals.. they love the flowers, and Fred will stand on his back two feet and snap a branch off and completely devour it... I does not seem to hurt the bush, so I say, eat hearty!

Can you see them back there to the left of the bush?  At least now, since I fenced off the grassed area

for Jasper and Zoe,  the bun buns stay off the grass

Ethel is in the foreground, Fred in the back.. He is quite large.

Wishing you all a beautiful November... See you soon.

Your potato bush.......well, maybe it's named Lycianthes? Anyway, the bush is beautiful, isn't it? Thank you for sharing your pictures :)!
Get well soon. Blessings and a warm hug, Ilona

  10. Ahhhh Fred and Ethel are so cute! I have a small brown bunny who hangs here and drinks from our English style bird bath. What fun to have the view you do from your kitchen window to enjoy the antics of the two.
Penny I am sorry to hear you had another run around with the Flu, rest and rebuild your strength.

  12. teeehee.....teeeeheeee....

THAT FRED IS HUGE! Oh Penny, you and me both, we enjoy our creatures so much. Fred and Ethel are quite the happy pair, and feel safe in your yard. I will never forget the abundance of bunnies in our yard when we first moved here. Each one had a name, and did they ever love to lay around on our grass. But I think due to all the building we've done here, the bunsters no longer feel there is enough space for them, so we never see any on our property! Instead, on our walks we count the many bunnies along our path. May Fred and Ethel LIVE ON, munching away. SOOOOOO SWEET!

  16. Penny, you made a cradle for your dolls out of the oatmeal container? That is so clever. You started early on with an imagination, my friend, and continued to make wonderful things with your creative hands. It was nice to hear that your mom made oatmeal for you when you were growing up. No one else mentioned that but you.

So, the rain skipped your area? I hope you get some soon. I hear there's going to be a lot of it this winter, so hopefully it will come your way.

Have a nice November week, Penny.

  17. Oh, I just read my friend, Susie's comment. Her mom used to make her oatmeal too. I love to hear about things that our moms used to do for us. It warms my heart.

  18. they must be so much fun to watch! unless of course they eat things you do not want them to eat. I love rabbits at least our wild ones, but i rarely get to see them.

  19. Oh Penny, this is the sweetest....we here get wild hare roaming about our yards, quail with their little families, and there is noting sweeter then this time of season for them to come out to feed and play about.

You my dear with your beautifully manicured yard, and beautifully wildly overgrown shrubs, peagraveled beauty fenced in with white are our modern day MS. POTTER, all your sweet animal creatures you live and create around.

I most adore your features when we get a glimpse of your personal life.
See you soon beautiful, and a November filled with all that it inspires from you.

    Xx
